News Article: Saban's Work is Never Done

Re: Interesting Saban Article

Wonderful read! Absolutely wonderful. I don't think many people realize how focused and dedicated he is to his love in life.

A few things stand out that really get me. First, he says that people think they work alot but really he's "only" there at 7 and gone by 8 (or so) on most days. 99.9% of the population doesn't work 13 hour days! Also, while it wasn't meantioned Coach Saban and staff work 7 days a week during the season. Sure, some days (or 1 day...Sunday) are shorter than others but they work every single day.

If anyone wants to learn what it TRULY takes in life (other than luck) to be Coach Saban successful, just read his book "How Good Do You Want To Be" and you'll see what success looks and tastes like. Man, he is one driven individual!

One of the better articles I've read in a while. Thanks for linking it!

Wow! What else can you really say?

That was great article. I heard Tom mention it on Bill King's Rivals Radio show this morning, but wasn't sure where to find it. Thanks for the link.

Good stuff!

I think the reason CNS is often perceived as a complete butthole to work for is because he DEMANDS that his staff and players have the same drive, intensity, work ethic, attitude, etc that he has. It's not for the weak or faint of heart...you've got to be a boy dog to work/play for him...and it shows on the field. We've got one of the best around folks...no doubt about it.

It seems like he could probably make a great living just traveling around doing motivational speaking engagements...

Thanks for the link.

You know, after reading this article, it dawned on me that I think almost every speach, article, interview Coach does, there is ALWAYS mention of someone in his family. His wife, kids, now the aunt.... I think that's great!

Saban gets his hair cut at Head Start. Who would have thunk it?

I had the same thought. $4M a year, and he spends less on haircuts than me...and I'm cheap!

I think the bad press is finally fading and media now wants to know how this guy turns programs around everywhere he goes (excluding Miami). They are also beginning to realize that this year may be the start of something very special in Tuscaloosa for several years to come.:BigA:

HOLY CRAP! What do you pay for a haircut. They said he laid 2 $20's on the counter. That's a pricey doo.
