If you get a chance to see it I thought it was very well acted and a just simply an incredible story.

Sandra Bullock truly did play a role that should be considered for an Oscar Nomination. Tim McGraw was actually pretty good as well.

The young man who played Michael Oher was very believable.

The star of the movie though, to me, was the Touey's young son who kinda instructed Oher on how to play football. He was down right funny.

As far as Coach Saban..well we should all be thankful that he's our football coach. He should be thankful for that as well.....lol

"Don't quit your day job Coach" :)

Seriously, see the movie. One of the best sports movies I've seen.

Don't know if any of you know this but Sandra Bullock's father is an Alabama native.

Her character gave a Bryant reference in one scene. As for the movie as a whole, I didn't have much to complain about. One of the best sports movies I've seen. However, I didn't like Tom Lemming's scene. Seemed like a jab at Coach Saban with the "recruiting updates" Coach Saban wanted. I wanted to gag during the Phil Fulmer scenes. I had to laugh during the Houston Nutt scenes ("There's plenty of lions, bears, and tigers, but only one Razorback"). Since I live in Arkansas, as of now, the crowd in the theatre was a mixture of laughs and boos.

I really enjoyed the movie. And you're right sip, the kid playing the Touey's (sp) son was really funny. I especially like the end when they start showing actual pictures from the the family, it almost seems as if it Ohers scrap book. Overall I was very pleased with the movie.:BigA:

I saw the movie on Saturday night here in Tuscaloosa, and I thought it was a great movie. I was afraid that it'd be too cheesy, but it turned out real good. There was a lot of clapping/cheering for Coach Saban, and plenty of boos for both Fulmer and Tuberville.

Sandra Bullock seemed to really take on and own the Mrs. Tuohy role. I'd heard that the guy that played Oher had to lose close to 100 pounds just to be able to play him.

It would be fun to see this movie in a theater in Louisiana, just to hear the LSU fans caterwaul when CNS is on-screen.

I enjoyed the movie as well. Speaking of Sandra Bullock quotes, did anyone else laugh when she made the negative comment about Fat Phil? The theater in Prattville was full of laughs after that quote. It was a well done movie.

I loved McGraw's line.."He thinks he's a red neck" when Oher wanted a pick up.

Best line of all though was when Sandra Bullock told Oher he should go to Tennessee if he wanted to but then telling him.."But I refuse to wear that God awful orange".

Best movie I have seen in several years, and that's not said lightly. I went with my girlfriend (big barner who loves football) and her little sister. My girlfriend cried at the end, it is an amazing movie. Saban is the man. I loved the part when his tutor said (paraphrase), "Their Science department at UT is very good...they investigate dead bodies. Bones, hands, legs, fingers, toes, all of it...they are buried underneath their stadium". I believe it.

I love how Mrs. Tuohy says, "I'll be in that (UT) stadium every game cheering for you, but I'll never wear that dainty (sp) orange".

I also loved how they made the NCAA out to be douche-bags.

I went away from the movie with one major impression, my girlfriend is a younger carbon copy of Mrs. Tuohy. We found that hilarious.

Great Movie! SJ did steal the show. I have heard that Michael Oher is a class act!! I also thought it was a great example of how people should react to kids in trouble.:BigA:

My wife and I saw it this weekend. It is really a good flick. It made my wife tear up a few times when you see what Michael Oher had to go through growing up. I loved it and will be getting it as soon as it comes out on video. Sandra Bullock really played an excellent role.

I concur "Delta". I saw it last night. The "Feel good movie" of the Holiday season.
The little boy was a "ham" and I liked the end as well. My fiance', who is not a huge football fan really enjoyed it. The underlying theme was really heart warming and will be inspiring to anyone who watches it.

OK, my wife wants to go see this so I probably will have to go either way, but for any of you who read the book first, how close is the movie?

It is an excellent book. Some famous author said watching your book turned into a movie is like watching your oxen turned into bouillion cubes. From the previews I'm concerned that this turns into the Sandra Bullock story rather than what the book focuses on.

Any help?

Loved the movie thought it was funny in practice lifted the dude over his shoulder and tried to sack the qb and when they were in the game and he pushed the dude across the field and over the fence and said,"I was taking him to the buses.":p

Ehh.. I loved the movie but it didn't compare to the book at all. They added some real cheesy parts to the movie too that I didn't like. If you liked the book though you should see the movie.

I didn't read the book but loved the movie on the whole. Thought it was great.

However, I'm in the creative profession. (Advertising) and I'd say there was two cheesy scenes that could have been done better. One, where he did lift the young man up and throw him, and two, the scene where he blocked the smart tail mouthy kid like fifty yards before sending him over the fence. That was indeed a bit non-realistic, and wasn't necessary to increase the 'drama".

sip
