He ownes at least one brick.

He was a good caretaker of the kids he recruited. In 1985 at GT, he suspended 4 starters who broke curfew in B'ham including his starting QB. Tech won & Curry didn't sacrifice his integrity.

Like it or not, Curry laid the foundation for Tech's 1990 national title and Bama's 1992 as well. He turned Tech from 1-9-1 in 1980 (they were on a major probation) to 9-2-1 in 1985. Had a rough 1986 & came to Bama. It was Curry - not Stallings - who recruited Teague, Copeland, Curry, London, Siran Stacy.

Would he have won it? Probably not but I'm thankful for his contribution.

I always thought he did a very good job, especially in recruiting.

Somehow I just can't see Gene Stallings flying up to New York state to recruit a kid named Derrick Lassic.

Bill was an OK guy and he wasn't a bad coach. Unfortunately, the barn's staff at that time was simply better.

As others have said, he recruited well and he had personal integrity. I wish him all the best.

He uses good technique when grabbing players' facemasks.

I remember that play, but not the specifics of it. Can you refresh my memory about it? I remember thinking that is exactly what a coach should do when one of his players acts like that. He certainly got the guys attention.
