I for one admire the young man he seems to not get the big head and is truely a remarkable person for his age.He has kept his team in many a game and has competed gallantly in all of them. Yet fans outside the state of Florida disdain him say he's not that good. He has had an amazing run while at Flroida and regardless of the rest of the year I salute a real athletic hero Tim Tebow, we should hope that others follow his lead.

He's good, that is for sure, and has been an asset to college football. I beleive a lot of the negatives directed towards him are the result of the excessive media adulation and lovefest.

Won't ever hear me say anything differently.

I am weary of the "fest", though, and will be glad when the Saturday morning comes where I don't have to hear his name 200 times every half hour. :)

He's the Gold Standard in winning...has a lot of talent around him, but leads and gets them all to work together. I think he will be one heck of a pro qb if he can go to a team that will fit their system to him. I haven't been this glad to see a player graduate since Bo Jackson left Auburn!

A running back in a linebackers body that can play quarterback. He is unique and one of the best I have ever seen in college football. I wish him well and hope the media will mention his name less and less over the next twenty years or so. ;)

It isn't really Tebow. I admire him. He's a great player. He's earned it all on the field. I don't see his records being broken for a long time.

Having said that, I personally find the aw-shucks-I'm oh-so-humble display a little off-putting, and maybe It's just the cynic in me but I don't buy it. I've known several people who have flawless public images through church, school, and work, but underneath had an unscrupulous side. Not that that means anything in regards to TT, it's just been my experience.

Having said all that...I'm just tired of the media adoration. Nobody is that perfect.

And if we lose, I will pull for Florida to win the BCSCG.

My thoughts also. He is a GREAT football player, but I get so sick of the media slobberfest. He is good, but there have been other goodun's too that didn't get this much worship from the media. The only thing that could have made it worse were if he played for u$c or nd. THAT would be sickening.

All the media attention is well deserved. I'm not turning this into a political/cultural debate, but it seems our modern media delights in bringing people like Tebow down. I guarantee you that a Perez Hilton or like ilk have done their level best to "get the goods," and the tactics they have used to do so would make Richard Nixon's "plumbers" blush.

Tebow has remained the same well-centered kid he was when he arrived on campus. He loves God, loves his momma and daddy, loves his fellow man and loves football. The world could use about 489,950,009 more young men like him.

I wish we'd gotten him and I'm just glad he won't be taking snaps for Florida next year. ;)

I watched the game yesterday and actually heard Danielson say Tebow made a mistake on a play.... I almost fainted.

I agree that he is good but I don't think anyone will ever know how much it is him and how much it is the system. I think he was perfect for the system Urban runs and his stats and what he has done will go down as some of the best ever.....but I think if you put Eric Crouch, Charlie Ward, Tommie Frazier, or even Tyler Watts in that system on some of those Florida teams then thier numbers would be comparable and in the case of crouch even better

Too many times we read of football players dealing drugs, armed robbery, assault, etc. so it has been so refreshing to have a player like Tim Tebow for the last four years. A super high character individual who makes those around him better. I just wish he hadn't been so high functioning in the fourth quarter of last year's SEC CG.

I agree Dixie. They were talking on fox sports radio about how Tebow is one of the greats of all-time and how we will be talking to our kids/grandkids about how we got to see him play (I am happy I get to see Tebow in person next week in the SECCG). He is very comparable to Doak Walker, Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, Herschal Walker. As much junk as I have spoken of Tim Tebow in the past, he will always hold a part in my college football heart. Nice job Tim, you are the man...

True... It's highly doubtful that tebow would have had the career he's had in a different system.... No doubt he is a great player and competitor, but put him in a U$C type O and several of his records would have never happened. I seriously doubt he would have made All SEC at Bama due to style of offense Bama uses. JMHO

I'm one of those people who thinks that what makes Tim Tebow "great" goes beyond statistics and wins/losses. I think he's one of the greatest football players in college football history because of who he is and what he believes in. He just has that moral center that doesn't get emphasized enough in sports. Jay Barker has it, too. And he didn't do too bad in his college career, either.

I think it'd be great if we had a lot more people like Tebow and Barker in the world. Especially these days, with kids being arrested for armed robbery, drug dealing, assault and battery, etc. You would never see the names "Jay Barker" or "Tim Tebow" on a police blotter, or featured in a news report with video recorded at 2:45 am...

Say what you will, but the media is playing to the Florida fanbase. I'm tired of hearing about Tebow, no matter how good he is. And, mark my words, Dan LaFevour is a better QB than Tebow. But Central Michigan just doesn't have the fanbase to hype the crap out of him (ratings, ratings, ratings...).

Tim Tebow is a unique product in an otherwise watered down market. The story of "Coming from the ghetto, broken home, single mother, not knowing who daddy is etc." is a common story/product in today's society.

What has become a rarity is a kid like Tebow. He comes from a two parent stable home, raised with virtue, character and integrity. He doesn't go out and get slobbering drunk, bang every thing that moves, doesn't have three kids before his senior year and doesn't commit armed robbery.

What he does do is live a life that though not perfect his intentions are obviously genuine. He is changing more than just the record books but is changing people's lives. He is more concerned about other people than he is himself and his accomplishments on a football field. What college athlete of his goes to prisons to preach a gospel that he believes saves people's souls? What kid his age and of his status goes to foreign countries with the desire to save lives and make a global difference?

This lifestyle sticks out like a diamond sitting against a black canvas in today's society and the media has reached out and grabbed a hold of the diamond. We shouldn't be surprised. Sick of it? Probably so. But don't blame Tebow.

So true, and there are hundreds more, but we still see the St Timmy love fest every week on TV, newspapers....and BAMA boards. So tired of it and so happy it will end very soon.
