Jones has gone 9-4 in consecutive seasons. The last time Tennessee won 18 or more games over two seasons was 2006-07, under Phil Fulmer.

Yes, Tenn could do worse. They should be thankful for Jones...

Jones doesn’t measure up to a standard that requires him to produce nationally elite teams, but he is producing consistently good teams. That should be considered success at Tennessee.

The Vols... are at a recruiting disadvantage compared to Florida and Georgia, due to the lower amount of talent in Tennessee. And the layout geography of the state results in the University of Alabama being 90 minutes closer to a talent center in Memphis than Knoxville is

So... keep Butch, relocate campus to Savannah (keep them on the TN River for the sake of the Vol Navy) and the championships will start rolling in?!

All kidding aside, they could do worse. They could still have Phatlock as head coach. Imagine the extra budget for all the Krispy Kreme doughnuts..........all kidding aside, whoever took over after Dooley/CLK would have an uphill battle (specially w/His Phatamous still poking his nose around in all things Pumpkin Orange). Botch will certainly likely never get them to the playoffs and may never get them a berth in the SECCG, but UT fans do need to wake up and smell the coffee and realize that Payton is gone and ain't coming back and at this time they're not gonna get a CNS caliber coach.
