The Alabama state rankings will be released on the 4th of July.

State Rankings Release
Here are the Scout.com Preseason state rankings for Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, Colorado and Washington.

Leading the way is the Sunshine State, where it’s a fantastic year in the state of Florida, where many prospects can stake the claim to the state’s finest blue-chipper. Is it a linemen (Matt Patchan, Michael Brewster or Marcus Fortson)? Is it a cornerback (Patrick Johnson or T.J. Bryant)? Is it a linebacker (Nigel Bradham or Nigel Carr)? “This recruiting season for Florida is one of it’s finest in years, with some of the nation’s top talent spread throughout the state,” said Miller Safrit, Southeastern Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com. “Any of top six players could easily hold the top spot this year, though that early distinction goes to Miami commitment Patrick Johnson (Pompano Beach, Fla.) who has dominated receivers in San Antonio and Miami and still has a lot of room to grow with his frame and technique.”

Wednesday State Rankings
The Scout.com Pre-season State Rankings for the Class of 2008 will be released over the next two weeks. Today, Texas, Oregon, Alabama, North Carolina, and Iowa all unveiled. Headlining these states are wide receiver Julio Jones, running backs Jermie Calhoun, Justin Johnson and Brandon Barnes, defensive lineman Ethan Johnson and offensive lineman Dan Hoch.

Alabama is one state that is loaded this season. This state’s top prospect also happens to be the nation’s No. 3 prospect overall, wide receiver Julio Jones (Foley, Ala.). “It is an incredibly deep year in Alabama this year as they have the top prospect in the Southeast, Julio Jones, four of the nation’s top 100 prospects, and eleven four-star prospects this season,” said Miller Safrit, Southeast Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com. “The state is particularly deep at defensive end, as seven of the top 25 prospects in the state are edge rushers.”

Once again Scout doesn't even have their list updated with all current commitments. Typical Scout. :(

I guess they don't consider Upshaw a Bama commitment. Also how do you like "Florida commitment" Dee Finley as their # 2 player in the state.
Yeah, I didn't even have to look at their list to know that's were Finley would wind up. I guess they must still think he'll switch over to the barn at some point. :rolleye2:

Now this is what I have come to expect from Scout.com. This article comes out a couple of days after the release of the Alabama rankings. Andrew Bone (Bama Mag) and Tide Sports knows that Upshaw is committed to Alabama. This article even references Upshaw is Bama's highest ranked commitment and Scout.com still don't have it corrected on their map.

Alabama commitments earn state ranking
Scout.com has issued their state rankings and all eight in-state commitments are among the top 35 best players in Alabama.

The top ranked commitment is Courtney Upshaw, a Scout.com four-star defensive end from Eufaula. Upshaw visited Alabama and Auburn in the month of June and remains a solid commitment to the Tide. He ranks as the 10th best player in Alabama.

I also like the new articles they put on the bamamag page about recruits that have zero interest in us. Why would i click on it if my team isn't interested or the recruit isn't interested. errrrrggg Not to mention they give updates on the same recruits all the time, but other recruits it's like there is no interest in covering or getting information from them. The inconsistency in coverage is pretty grand. Sorry this was one place I felt like I could soapbox on this matter without the thread being locked.
