Florida does what we do, only better. They are deeper, stronger, and play just as fast. And they do it with a little more offensive structure and overall aggressiveness. That’s 4 in a row we’ve lost to them. In the last five we’ve played them, we’ve given up 104, 99, 102, 105, and 93 points. I’d say Golden has Oats’ number.
2006 was the last time I won the tidefans basketball pool. I picked Florida and actually got it right. I will not be picking them this year, but they are definitely capable.

Bigger and stronger across the board, but especially at the guards. We’ll never win consistently against these types of teams unless we start stocking the roster with 6-2, 6-3, etc. guards who are built like SEC strong safeties - guys who can legitimately guard bigger forwards when switching out.
Have to hope we draw a regional where we have a minimum of teams like that or have a draw where those teams beat up on one another so we can beat them with speed. Proud of how far we’ve come and no knock on our guys… but imo that’s what has to happen for us to take that next step. RTR

Very similar to UConn last year. Regardless of how they do tomorrow, I’d say they’re the odds on favorite to win it all.
Idk, Florida may be the only team that can do that to us. Obviously, if we have a bad day like against Auburn in town, we will get beat. But as far as matchups go, there really isn't anyone else that would scare me to that degree. Maybe Kansas if we draw them early, but even then, they haven't lived up to their potential this season. We will be fine if Grant gets healthy. I think we're going to find that theae tourney matchups will be easier than the constant grind of the SEC.

like another said we need bigger guards but there’s a reason not every team has big athletic guards that can shoot. Still great time for Bama bball and hopefully years more of CNO!

An extra day of rest can go a long way in basketball. Keep in mind, these guys are used to playing 2 games a week, unlike football, so an extra day can go a long way. I'm not mad about it. It means a lot for Grant and Mark being able to recover from their injuries.
Auburn is also in that same sphere. Outside of the SEC, I don’t watch a lot of basketball, so I’m not well versed in what other teams have.
Auburn is not a bad matchup for us, so I wouldn't consider that the same sphere. We match up fine with them, and you could make the argument that we are the better team. They've done enough to deserve the #1 seed for sure, but I don't buy the notion that they're better than us. They just have a better resume, but that's not the same thing. If we face them in the dance, I like our chances.
We want to get out, run and dictate tempo. In order to do that, you must rebound. UF just dominated the boards, played outstanding defense and their guards are big and physical. Hats off to UF, they just beat us.
Had a friend who only drank that in college and to this day even a picture of it will give him the pale sweats haha
