Appears the team is making a good go at it in Hoover. Those loses to teams like UT Martin, UAB, North Alabama etc are sure rearing their ugly heads on the resume for the regional committee. May keep us out of it.

We had a 43 RPI before Hoover and just beat 18 and 32. Our next game is the winner of 22/24. I think even if we drop the next two, we make a regional.

Most likely. From a conversation from someone on staff after the game it seems the belief is that Alabama and Ole Miss are competing for a spot and that the 3 game sweep in Oxford maybe the tie breaker. But another win definitely gets us in.

The SEC should consider putting half the tournament at the Barons stadium with one championship game in Hoover. It would make it easier in dealing with rainouts and makeup games, especially if they expand past 12 after TX and OK join.

Good idea… but the Swac championship is there. The working idea yesterday was going to have it at samford if they didn’t go to single elimination.

Our run in Hoover ends with an 11-6 loss to Florida. A 4 spot in the 9th by the Gators put it out of reach. According to D1-Baseball we were the last team in to start the day. Nothing else we can do to help our cause except hope the right teams also lose today, like Kentucky.

Seeing some projections with Bama in, others where they are not. We shall see. I have said it before but those bad losses really look bad right now and might keep us out.

Well this team was better than last year’s team but maybe it won’t show it because we are probably left out. Our relief pitching goes from good to not even JUCO level talent and that is probably the biggest issue. We are just not there yet. Our best pitcher never pitched and that is probably worth 3-4 more quality wins had he never got hurt.

We beat really good teams and hung with them, but we also found a way to lose to bad and mediocre teams. The MSU series should have been a sweep but it wasn’t. The week day series had some bad losses.

Looks like the ugly losees did indeed keep Bama out of the regionals.Win those four of five games and they where probably a lock. Also gave away several conference games.Maybe it will serve as a reminder next season and fuel the team.
