yeah that changed with the Georgia game today

say what you want...we feel we just need to do better than AWFUL with our D and they did well today

had 6 sacks on the QB, including a game grabber at the end, good pass-rush

we haven't had a pass rush in years

I'm not saying you don't have one, but I know it's better to undersell then to oversell. Plus, Georgia hasn't exactly been an offensive juggernaut this season. They played without one of their best RB's (King) and without their only legit offensive weapon (Green), and with a freshman QB (Murray.)

I'm not saying there's not room for you to be happy, or even a little encouraged by their performance today. But don't get overzealous over one game.

Just better than awful.....okay.

Do you think you'll hang with a team of Alabama's talent with just better than awful? I'm not trying to say you won't hang with us, but our offense is better than yours, so your defense had better be much, much better.

You gave up 24 points to a weak Georgia team with a very young QB...who doesn't have AJ Green. No disrespect intended, but this Bama offense is on a different level altogether.
 
This has turned into a smack thread and it's not really what TF is about. Honest (although biased) assessments of strengths and weaknesses are OK. "My daddy can beat up your daddy" is not cool...

we'll see...we do have an all-everything QB in Mallett

I can admit you have a better all-around offense but we're stacked when it comes to the passing game

sure they missed Green today but I don't think he would have made much of a difference...gotta have a QB that can get the ball in his vicinity...Murray didn't do much of that today

on another note...did you guys notice the OBSCENE number of times that the announcers mentioned Green today?

Good luck...you do have the home field advantage going for you. If it turns into a complete shootout you definitely have the punchers chance. Here's to a well fought, injury free contest.:)

Good luck finding many (any) impartial parties around the country to agree with you about your offense.

Sigh...So the smack has started and the Saturday games from the week before have barely ended. Is this what we can expect for the entire week?

Look at the stats....listen to the talking heads...I don't need luck. You need to take a look at our offense. Apparently for the first time.

I'm all for looking at stats, but I reserve skeptical judgment on most of what the talking heads spew out.

Where do you see smack? You said your offense was better than ours.

I definitely think it will be a much better game than the ones we've had so far. I'm looking forward to the Start of SEC play. You guys will be our first SEC test.

Can't look ahead Coach says but I think everyone has the UF and USCe games highlighted.

Ok, let's look at stats then: (these stats are before Ingram and Darius got to the field)

We put up over 600 yds this week so our numbers will only get better in relation to yours. (You had 53 yds rushing and 380 passing...we had 311 passing and 315 rushing)

After week 2:

Alabama
29th in rushing @ 218.5 yds per game.
Arkansas
74th in rushing @ 147.5 yds per game

Passing:
Alabama
24th in passing @ 281.5 yds per game
Arkansas
5th in passing @ 361 yds per game

This is after Bama played Penn St. and before Ark played Georgia. So the stats gets better for Bama this week. Do you see any difference in balance, I do.

I definitely see a difference in balance. No one is going to accuse us of having a balanced attack. You guys have a balanced attack.

My point about finding an impartial party to agree with your comment about having a better offense than ours still stands. At the least it's very debatable.

It's sizing up to be a great game.

:patriot:I'll buy that for a dollar.

My consolation is that Saban is a defensive mind and Petrino is an offensive mind. He has one weapon to stop and you have many. A great offense gives Saban the advantage IMO. Good luck this weekend.:)
