One favorite is hard to pick, but here's one that's probably close to what a lot of us have thought at one time or another.

“When Coach Bryant walked into the locker room I always had the urge to stand up and cheer,” quarterback/kicker George Blanda (UK 1945-48) once said. “Seeing that face for the first time — granite firm, grim, full of grit — I thought, ‘This must be what God looks like.’”

"I could see it in our players eyes all week. The intensity was there. I never believed we were the underdog. I told people if I could choose one team,
I'd choose mine."

Coach Stallings after 92 Sugar Bowl.

"Kick off your shoe early on New Year's night and go to bed. Sleep off the hangover. Ignore the fanatical hype coming from your television set that promises another match for the ages down in Bayou Country.
"It's a big lie
"Alabama and Miami are scheduled to decide the national championship in the Sugar Bowl. No 1 verses No. 2, neatly packaged by the bowl coalition. But read the fine print, please.
"Alabama despite is territorial advantage, doesn't have a chance."

George Diaz, sports writer Orlando prior to 92 Sugar Bowl:)

Here's a twenty....bury two."
Coach Bryant when asked to contribute $10 toward the funeral expenses of a recently-departed sportswriter.

"If you start listening to the fans, you'll soon be sitting with them" ---Gene Stallings

the best quote!...
Mama called, and when Mama calls, then you just have to come running.
--------------------------
You could play four years and not be good enough to cost the University of Alabama thirty yards!
- An irate Coach Bryant to a player who had just received his second fifteen yard penalty of the game.
---------------------------
"I'm just a simple plow hand from Arkansas, but I have learned over the years how to hold a team together. How to lift some men up, how to calm others down, until finally they've got one heartbeat, together, a team." --Bryant, when asked why he was so successful as a coach
----------------------------
All due respect to Auburn.. but when Alabama gets this thing going, they control that state --- Kirk Herbstreit
LOVE that! :)

and another great one...
"I guess I'm just too full of 'Bama." Tommy Lewis, explaining why he charged, bareheaded, off the bench to tackle Rices' Dick Moegle who was on his way to a 95 yard TD run in the 1954 Cotton Bowl.

Toward the end of the title game against Miami, we had just did something major (dont remember what). Keith Jackson said, "I think I just heard the door slam". He had quite a few during that game.

A few years ago a bunch of people were standing in this room at work and I was approaching decked out in my Bama gear. I said "Alabama fan coming thru...show respect". I was kidding kinda, but have been doing it for many years now. The meanest reception I get is at church.

Price of victory...is my favorite and my son used it in his yearbook quote.

O.K., one more. One of my all-time favorites...

"Well Eli, Smokey just came out of the tunnel, and he's about 100 yards away from me now, and if I had my deer rifle I believe I could drop him, back to you Eli" -- Jerry Duncan's comments to Eli Gold just prior to kickoff against Tennessee.

"Their boy was running for a touchdown, mine was running for his life!" -Bear when asked by a reporter how his Texas A&M defender ran down a potential TD run.

"If they stay between the white lines Lee Roy will get 'em!"- Bear on All-America LB Lee Roy Jordan

But my favorites of all time are:

"Just remember, you bleed crimson whether you like it or not!" -painted on the side of a van in Mobile.

"Lookee there, it takes three hands to add up Alabama's National Championships" -My cousin after asking his buddy to hold out two fingers while he held out ten to a bunch of Barners in a bar. Man, I wish I'd been there.

"Alabama, where even our bad coaches have ten-win seasons and win SEC championships (Curry, Dubose)" -me
