Did you have the team name of the front too?
I understand why you did it, but I think you are in the minority, most high schools that do it, do it because the kids think it looks cool to have a name on the back of the jersey like the big boys do in college and the pros, and because it costs a fortune to replace jerseys year after year for most high schools, they go with the team name instead of the players name.
Tennessee St. University had "TIGERS" on the back of their jerseys this year and it just looked "bush league"...
We have done it both ways.
I prefer the school name on the front, ala Oklahoma. School name on the road, mascot/nickname at home. I have seen front and back at same time, but have not done it that way.
I know some HS teams that sew a strip on the back of the jersey each year with the player's name on it. When the player graduates they give him his name strip. That is pretty cheap, huh.
To
ALL those that think player names should be there: we just have to agree to disagree. All I know is that they have never been on a jersey that I had anything to say about and good Lord willing never will be. Nothing you can say to change my mind on this issue.
That being said, Alabama will probably have the player's names on their jerseys this year. Saban had them there at LSU (probably MSU too) and we know he had them with the Dolphins (I think it is an NFL rule). But, I'll tell you this; if Saban calls and ask my opinion, I WILL say
"NO" to player's names. LOL:biggrin2:
