I know it's early, but off what I've seen so far, my worries about our defense after T.R. left appear to be unfounded. Our defensive intensity has been great so far.
We do indeed appear to be deeper than a year ago. Emmett Thomas will help us. I was afraid of his shot after seeing the OU game, but he settled in and played well Friday. I don't know if there is an injury involved or just that the competition is better, but Demetrius seems to be getting a lot less PT than a year ago. PT at the wings really will be competitive when Winston abd Williams are thrown into the mix.
Evans brock seems to be the choice for first big man off the bench. He really moves well for a 6'9" guy. I'd love to see him add a little muscle. Reggie Rambo looks like he will give us what he did a year ago; some high energy minutes off the bench as far as rebounding, defense and hustle, but not a lot of finesse on offense. Chuck Davis looks like he has some useful skills, but he definitely isn't as far along as Brock.
I must remind myself: the exhibition games don't mean a thing.
