So we get the rematch, what do we do differently?

I second pounding it with Trent. Rest him against the rest of the schedule. These guys are big time recruits and the offense makes them look unsure and uptight. If you throw out of the wildcat, why not run it with the other Sims who is actually a QB?

We block on offense and hand the ball off to #3 or his capable back-ups!

No field goal attempts! When we're inside the 35, just keep running the ball even if it takes 4 downs and a cloud of dust!

If we're outside the 35, punt out of bounds inside the 10 yard line and let the D do their job!.

Another plan!

Don't play a QB! Play 4 running backs on each play. The center just snaps it back to the dude who's going to run the ball! The other backs BLOCK for him!

Single wing or Notre Dame Box!

Don't do anything differently; just execute better. The game plan was good, and we were in just as good a position to win as LSU was. I don't think LSU would do anything differently--shut down our running game and make McCarron pass. In fact, it's what LSU did last year; 100 yards rushing this year and 100 yards rushing last year.

Play calling was Good against a very good Defense so 3 things
1. Catch the Football no drops, it hits your hands it is in
2. More Trent early & often
3. Longer passes on 1st down.

First offensive series, have every lineman run to Mattheu's side and pancake him, then pile on him.

I won't try to give X's and O's as I am no coach. But I hope this rematch comes about. I'm sick of hearing LSU corndogs yapping about how they dominated us and blew us off the field!

Right off the bat, I see one HUGE disadvantage to playing them again. This time, the game would be in their home state, practically making it an LSU home game.

If we get lucky enough to play them again, they deserve that advantage, IMO. But we will still kick their butts.

1. Eliminate the mental mistakes
2. Punt, Bama, punt when kicking from 45+ yards out
3. Let someone else receive punts, if the normal return guy is hurt

Other than that...I'd say Bama did a great job, and were ultimately the better team. They moved the ball up and down the field for the most part. Unfortunately, the mistakes are what made the difference in a game like this.
