I'll go ahead and say Ed Stinson is going to be a suprise star next year. He looks to add more muscle mass and be a permanent hand on the ground D End. Any others that come to mind ?

And no answer to the OP's question so I'll throw out an '11 surprise player (fingers crossed): DeAndrew White. Robert Lester was quoted as saying that White (and another redshirt freshman receiver) were really impressive on the scout team. I also took note of White's build while he was on the sideline during one of the games I attended and he looks like he's "solid." He looked much bigger than the 6 foot 180 lbs he was said to be when he committed back in '09.

Keiwone Malone is the other reciever I do believe. Michael Bowman needs to step up too.

I'll bite, I'll guess Nick Perry in the secondary, Kerry Murphy on the DL, and Alex Watkins will make plays coming in relief next year.

You might see a bounce back year for Nico Johnson, as well as Damion Square who improved noticeably in the last few games.

Offensively I'd like more from Eddie Lacy, he's fast but he didn't run with authority, and he fumbled too much. He needs to add strength.

I don't know how much Nick will do next year. My reasons are Barron most likely will come back because of his injury, Robbie comes back from suspension, and Lester comes back.

Lacy didn't fumble "too much." Bama fans have gotten spoiled by Mark and Trent; those two rarely fumble.

Dont know if its much of a surprise, but, if healthy, Square could be setup for a big 2011. He led in sacks this year while playing on a re-built knee.

I'll go with an incoming freshman...Trey DePriest.

Also looking forward to Jesse Williams stuffing the middle. Our defense is shaping up to look downright scary again, in the near future. :)

How would you like to be at center and line up across from this?

Sentimore ... appears to have big motor but must need some refining? I kept thinking he would play more and more this year. When he was in, he was all over the field.

No idea if it'll happen, but I'd like to see a lot more of Jalston Fowler. Not many guys out there with his size, power, speed, hands and blocking ability, still think he should have been used to keep Nick Fairley off of GMac.

Sentimore seemed to be a guy who a lot of us thought would be a huge addition this year. However, he didn't see a lot of playing time. Hopefully, we will have several surprises next year. I would like another 14-0 surprise regardless of which guys in crimson are getting it done. If I have to pick one, I will say Milliner. I think he showed a lot of improvement towards the end of the season, and I hope he becomes a very solid corner for us next year.

Ditto. I've said before on here that I will not be shocked if he's our first RB behind Richardson.
I still think Kerry Murphy is going to surprise us one of these days before he graduates.

I'm also crossing my fingers on Adrian Hubbard.

For the amount that Lacy actually touched the ball, I would say that he fumbled too much. No, he wasn't dropping the ball every time he touched it, but he only got significant carries in a couple of games and fumbled in each one. He definitely has some skill, but he does need to protect the ball better, IMO.

We REALLY need a new OL star or two badly.
We return four starters, but I hope that we will have a better line next year. I would also like to see us develop some depth. It seems that we never have more than one or two guys who can fill in when needed. I would love to see a solid two deep across the board on the offensive line.

When was the last SEC champion with an underperforming OL???? It takes at least 7 SEC calibur OLmen to play a game and 8 to play a season. We currently have 3&1/2-4. I have hope eternal for spring.

Aaron Douglas and Jesse Williams aren't suprises IMO, we know that they are being brought in to fill a specific need and they are more than capable. I think that a lot of those who were down on D Milliner this year are going to be shocked at his development. He has all the physical tools and the drive to be the best, he just has to adjust to the speed of the game and the complexity of Saban's coverage schemes. Its commonly said that the greatest development a player makes is between the Fresh. and Soph. years.

I've been high on Jalston the day he signed. I could not believe he was moved to LB his first year. If given a chance he'll be a hell of a RB. But nice to know he can be a heck of a LB.
