Spurrier did not give Darren McFadden any of his 3 votes

Is it possible that Nutt and his OC miss used McFadden's talent early in the year. If McFadden had been in on that 3rd and short and got the first down i think he would have won the Heismen.

Everybody wants to talk about McFadden's monster game against LSU, but let's look at some other numbers. McFadden's team lost 4 games this season. In those 4 losses, McFadden's numbers were

OPP TOTALYARDS TOTALTDs
Bama 211 2
UK 183 1
Auburn 48 0
UT 134 0

By comparison, Tebow's team lost 3 games this season

OPP TOTALYARDS TOTALTDs
Auburn 276 2
LSU 225 3
UGA 251 3

When Arky lost (especially later in the season), a strong case can be made that McFadden didn't show up. Tebow brought it every game.
Could hardly disagree more. Only in the AU game were DM's numbers bad, and he was hurt and probably should not have played, but did because of heart.

Tebow's numbers included much more passing. Actually, DM's numbers look more impressive than Tebow's.

I'm not arguing that DM should have won over Tebow as I think they were both deserving; and Tebow is an underrated passer - he is extremely accurate. But to run DM down in their losses is, IMO, completely off base.

I think DM is the greatest RB in SEC history, along with Walker and Jackson. The heart and toughness he displayed in the Bama game was legendary, more than either of the aforementioned ever showed. (Don't refer to the fact he missed the last 8 min, the trainers prohibited him from returning.)

Injuries are a part of the game. Tebow played with a hurt shoulder and a broken hand, not to mention the battering of all the hits he took on almost every play.

McFadden's performance against Auburn (in a loss) and FIU (83 total yards in a win) just don't stack up. By the way, Tebow had to call the offense, read the defense, was the primary passer and rusher, and everybody knew where he was at all times -- under center or in the gun. It's not like you can split your QB out wide in the slot or bring him in motion.

The love affair with McFadden is a byproduct of many Bama fans' "jilted girlfriend" attitude w/r/t Tebow.

After college that is where the outstanding part ends for Heisman winners. How many are in the Pros and are outstanding?

The Heisman trophy doesn't go to the most outstanding player in college football but the player that had the most outstanding season.

Spurrier is a jerk. McFadden ran for over 300 yards on his team and he doesn't even give dude a vote for the Heisman...priceless.

He wanted Tebow to win and McFadden was his biggest competition so he just swung the vote even more in Tebow's favor by not giving the best football player in the nation a vote. Classless and unethical...Steve Spurrier defined to a tee.

Were there any other coaches who gave all three votes for Tebow and none for McFadden? I'm sure there was.

I'll have to agree with you. What a sad old man Steve has become.

What? I don't think you can do that. Here's how SOS voted:
1. Tebow
2. Brennan
3. Daniel
Which means Tebow got 3 points, Colt Brennan got 2, and Chase Daniels got 1. D-Mac got 0 points from SOS, but as stated above, it's no stretch to see that SOS prefers QB's...

IMO McFadden was good most of the time, Tebow was good all the time.

Almost all coaches vote for their benefit, especially in coaches polls. Heard an interview and almost all coaches voted to benifit themselves. The coaches poll needs thrown out.
