SOS is a good coach, a respected coach

and one of the reasons he is looking forward to Bama is he knows what Bama will bring to the game. He has seen the films, and understands what is happening at Bama. He feels that if he can beat Bama after UGA, then he will have a pretty good team. It will be a VERY good game.

Now the most interesting game that USC will play next year is UF... that will be a good one..... I think that USC will beat UF in that game.

at tenn.( your favorite team) and at arkansas before florida comes to town. We've come awlfully close to beating tenn. last couple of years and this may be the year.
I would think the Florida game would draw as many viewers and fans as most bowl championship games IF Both schools can have good records going into the November meeting.
sounds like a espn gameday to me!!!!!!
ps. I think you've got one of the best coaches around and if he'll stay and get his recruits in bama will be the bama of old in short order.

That was a pretty good preview of Alabama until the end.

I don't think Carolina's LBs are better than BAMA's. Maybe more depth, but not talent. I also think Alabama's receivers were underrated. Carolina lost their best receiver to the NFL. And, I don't think Carolina's DBs are any better depth wise or talent wise, than Alabama's.

It should be a good game. With it being in Columbia, it will tough for BAMA to win. But, I'm not sold on Spurrier coming in and winning right away. I think South Carolina has as many depth problems as Alabama with so many dismissals in the off season.

I think Alabama is being sold short by everyone this year - and that's understandable with the recent year's results. However, if a couple of key things happen, (injuries, O-line) Alabama will win much more than most expect.

I think Tennessee probably has the best front 7 in the SEC, I think we have the best back 7.

Unless Bama has several turnovers, USC won't score 27 points.

hey man, as of today the coaching staff hasn't found a qb yet. My bet is that spurrier is going to go with one of the true freshman coming in.
With spurrier though it ought to be interesting.

Breadman,

With one of the true freshmen? Does that mean that the QB applying for a medical hardship was shot down again or is it almost guaranteed that he won't get an extra year already?

PS. I think yall have the best safety in the league in Ko Simpson. I love Bama's secondary, and Harper and Peprah are very good, but Simpson was just crazy good last year as a freshman, so i'm interested to see if there is any sophomore jinx or anything. However, I feel fairly confident with Bama's chances considering the talent yall lost to the NFL or dismissals by the new staff. Did Boyd also get kicked off the team (thought i read it somewhere, just wanted to double check)?

there is no wat south carolina will put up 27 against bama even with they do win against bama (which they will not) they still will not put up 27.

i would be willing to bet money that if you go to any other team's website on bama's schedule (with the exception of utah state because they don't care about football and it shows) their "expert" will predict a win aginst bama

We are thin as ice water. We will be there to play on Sept. 17th, but
don't expect too much. We have so many questions. Offense? Defense? Special teams?

We of course open with Middle Tennessee (they recruited the best high school running back I've ever seen this past spring, I don't know if he'll be eligible, though).

Then, we get Southern Mississippi. Why is it that it always seems to me that USM dictates the gameplan when we play them? Thank goodness we play both of them in Tuscaloosa.

Then the Gamecocks. Whew. Spanked us pretty good last year. In Tuscaloosa. Whew. That looked like a team that was going somewhere.
We'd like to give a better effort this year. That was embarassing.

That Steve Spurrier. The 'ole ball coach. Heisman Trophy. Florida Gator. I wouldn't trust him though.

He's from Tennessee.

I have no doubt The Evil Genius will choose an incoming freshman to mold, groom, and bend to his will..er, um..style of play. Y'all know how CSS is...he doesn't like QB's that've been coached up by some other (he would think "lesser") coach at the college level. He'll start a freshman, then p**s and moan about how much things suck, but nonetheless find some way to coach the team to some solid victories. Said QB will then show steady improvement in the years to come and the rest of us will say "The Evil Genius has done it again." :eek2:

Should be an interesting few years over there in SC.

Spurrier not really happy facing BAMA even at home

Steve on one ocassion discussed how Alabama was one of the hardest and cleanest playing teams in the SEC. He also dogged Tutorsee and stated they were the worst trash talking team in the SEC. He has some work to do but he will be back to his old self in about two more recruiting classes. He will be fine as soon as he gets his QB's in his system. Coach Spurrier is very short with players who are not on his pace when it comes to learning. He still feels the sting of 1999 of all coaches - Mike Dubose. It was really more of Chris Samuals and Shaun Alexander. The GameCocks will play their hearts out but the Tide wins this year. Spurrier has his EYES on the Orange bucket of vile. That game will be his BULLSEYE this season.

think it might give some vol fans a queazy feeling and night terrors if spurrier and usc shellack ut in their first meeting with spurrier in the mix? i think there'd be a collective "oh no, here we go again" in knoxville were that to happen this fall. i can hope, can't i?

I think the lug nuts are loose and the wheels are about to come off in Tutorsee. The Viles have had some very close calls in the past two years and if the breaks start to go against them, I predict a complete meltdown by the powers that be at UcheaT.
I can't wait for the game against Carolina and the Old Ball Coach. We've got some revenge to dish out to the cocks. That game last year was a total wash. It was like we were in quicksand, the more we tried, the deeper we sank. I am so excited about the upcoming season, I can hardly contain myself.

May the GC's get their bullseye!

No way Bama loses in Columbia, but the tin can can get loud. They spread the visitors around like glitter in their stands, so don't look for a Bama section to root us on. If your seats are on lower rows, you'll need to take a periscope to see the game. Pregame is good cause most of the fans are hospitable (always some exceptions) and share their spreads with visitors.

Spurrier Spanking

I, for one, am happy as a pig in mud that Spurrier is back. I will never forget those two spankin's we put on him at his home place and then our old home place (Atlanta)! I do not believe that a couple of seasons in the NFL has ridded him of the old hat tossin' habit and cannot wait to watch him rant, rave and toss that hat all up and down the side line by the time the Tide finishes with him this year! That game last year was a disaster and never should have happened the way that it did. Trust me, he is smart enough to look at the game tapes and see what is coming his way and I cannot wait to go to Columbia to see it in person, regardless of where they seat me!
Roll Friggin Tide!!!!!!!
