i 2 am looking forward to the south carolina game. I am epecting a Miss State type game. I think it will be close. I hope Brodie has a coming out party along with Hall, Zeke, Prothro, Darby, Walker, Brown, Coffee, Upchurch, Zo, Fanney, and a few more. :)

I am not sure where this guy got his information for the preview but...

there is simply NO WAY that I would give the edge to SC's receivers when they don't have a QB! One of the things about previewing games that has always bothered me is this...why would you compare team A's receivers to team B's receivers? Shouldn't you compare Team A's receivers to Team B's defensive backfield and defense overall?

Given that Bama will have a defense that is as good if not better than last years, and SC doesn't even have a QB, not to mention SOS had to kick about 6 returning starters off the team this past spring, I give the nod to Bama for two reasons. First, I don't see SC understanding or learning SOS's game plan well enough to run it effectively by the 3rd game of the season to bother Bama's D! Also, I don't see SC's "D" being able to really stop our offense...slow it down...maybe, but stop it...NO WAY.

This will likely be a close game but I am giving the early nod to Bama. Finally, don't forget that SC will be coming off of a big time game in Gainsville and could easily be beat up by the time Bama comes to town, while Bama gets to warm up games where our backups SHOULD get a lot of playing time!

Seriously, how can you even consider predicting a game or season before either team has played a game? While SC has a BIG name coach, they have also lost alot in the post season. Spurrier has alot of work ahead of him, as does his counter part in Gainesville. Funny how a change to a big name or more successful coach makes people believe they are destined for greatness. After 2 games and looking pretty sweet last year I thought bama was getting ready to ROLL. Then down goes Croyle, Hudson, Castille, Darby...AGHHHH!

Who knows what lies in store for any team this fall. All I know is I will enjoy my trips to T-town this fall.

I think Bama will start to suprise some people this year. Not making any predictions, but everyone around thinks they are going to beat Bama and become the Crimson Tide of the 60's -70's.

There were a couple of questions asked that I can answer. The qb asking for a 6th year (yes 6th) has been denied again and our leading rusher, cory boyd was indeed suspended from team. His mother says he is in New jersey practicing on his own and while he probably will miss this fall he should be back in school next year.
So.... no experienced qb- no experienced rb= lots of freshman playing. May be a tough year but steve spurrier seems to have the ability to put some awesome game plans together. AND OUR INCOMING FRESHMAN ARE VERY GOOD.

thebreadman, an article in the State today quotes Spurrier as saying several players weren't attending vol. workouts this off-season and that he was disappointed with your #1 WR and his off-season rehab of his leg/ankle...whatever he hurt.

What the hell is wrong with your team?
