very well put. Look at how much better JPW looked in the spring game mechanics/desicion making-wise. Plus, in his video he absolutely drills that deep fade. That's a really hard throw to make. It also looks like he's good at finding one-on-one mismatches and exploiting them.

I like that he keeps his head up, always looking to throw the ball first, run later. That should keep him healthier in the long run.

That is exactly who I thought he reminded me of from watching that clip. A lot of his throwing power comes from his wrist. Not really setting his feet yet, a lot of fundamentals need to be taught. He has a great feel for the blind side pressure and has the speed to outrun the LBs (in high school level). Good touch on his mid range throws, but need to work on accuracy on long ranges.

His throwing motion reminds me of J. Russell, but his running looks so effortless. He looks very fluid and that reminds me of Vince Young. Pull the trigger soon, please.

His remarks were glowing about Alabama. The press conference however is scheduled for August 23rd. We got a while to wait fellas, but I'm feeling good. The timing would be nice too considering it is the week before the season starts.

An early announcement from Star can only mean good things for us IMHO. Wish it were sooner though! :wink: :biggrin2:

I like this kid as an ATH but I just watched his video right after I got through watching AJ McCarron and I think he is the better talent. Both are VERY rough but when you look at Star throwing most of his passes in his video either as "run under and catch it" lobs or throwing high to receivers you've got to see a lot of INT's at the college level.

Its just my opinion. I am FAR from a professional (more like below rank amateur) but I think if Star Jackson ends up at a tier one NCAA program he'll end up playing WR before it's all said and done.

Honestly, there isn't a team that is recruiting him as a QB that is going on junior year film. This off-season he worked his butt off to get better as a passer. He is a throw-first kid. Yes, he needs work, especially in reading defenses, but he really showed off at the Elite 11 camp---- the best of the best competition.

He will be a QB and I think it'll be at Bama. Again, he has improved himself this off-season, tremendously.

AJ is a special talent as well. He may well be a 5 star. Take them both and let them fight it out on campus.

I like that idea: competition breeds excellence...especially when the raw talent is so good.

Really?? The coaches at the Elite 11 camp said he was one of the top performers there and that is the best of the best qb's in the nation. It's just my opinion but if he's one of the top 5 or 6 qb's in the country and can run as well, he'll be a qb anywhere he goes.

I have to disagree. Jackson has big time potential as a QB on the next level. Like RTO mentioned, he's not being recruited as an "athlete", he's being recruited as a QB and for good reason IMHO. I suspect that he'll probably have a HUGE year this year as he solidifies himself as one of the top QBs in the entire country.
