I have 2 kids in a similar system. They complete their HS coursework in 2 years. The final 2 years are courses at the local JC where they can potentially earn 2 Associates. One of them was put ahead a year and will complete the program at 16. That part of the story seems credible. But if he was held back, how does he have that high a gpa?
And how is it even possible to get that high a gpa?
My son just graduated high school…he was in all advanced classes, salutatorian, and completed a dual enrollment program at a local junior college where he received an associate’s degree and the highest gpa possible at his school was a 4.5 (he had a 4.4).
This story sounds fishy.
As far as condensing the coursework into 1 year of HS, I don't even see how that is done with a mapped out program. That includes potentially going to school all year round. I also do not see how someone graduating 2 years early would be 17. I have seen some parents hold back a kid so that they could develop another year physically or mentally.
