A friend was at the game and noticed an unusual amount of orange in the student section in the upper deck. Did anyone else notice this?

I've been pretty critical of the students, but those seats were full. I'm not going to worry much beyond that, given that Tennessee had to return tickets anyway.

I am not sure there were many Tennessee fans in the student section. The top parts of both the north and south upper decks are used for visitor allocation. The south allocation joins part of the student section. Since Tennessee returned a lot of unsold tickets there were Bama fans mixed in a lot of the UT sections.

I did notice several UT fans in the south zone seating area. One UT fan was wearing the worst suit and hat I have ever seen at a game. Maybe we should start a thread about the big rich donors that give or sell their tickets to visiting team fans.

Not sure where Bama70 gets seating information but the north upper deck is faculty, staff and opposing team fans. The south upper deck is students and Letterman. I'm there every week and have never looked across the way and seen that many opposing team fans. It was not sporadic, there were groups of orange.

I agree that it's better to see anyone in the seats. Empty seats don't help anyone.
When we bring in RECRUITS they want to see a full house. TV wants to show a full house too.

I have no problem with students selling their tickets to anyone who wants to fill the seat.
I just don't like empty seats.

Bama70 is correct. The south upper deck does contain visitor seating. See link.

I saw the same guy from my seat. In his defense, he was just having a good time. The fans around him seemed to enjoy him. More power to him.

No worries. I can remember 2008. We got tickets from Vols fans at Neyland for an insane low price. But this weekend, the seats were filled, frats were afraid to leave (on penalty of excommunication from Bama Nation), we stomped UT into the mudhole (mud they are) -- umm... I am happy!!! RTR!!!
