Ten Most Wanted Commitments?

Wrong! By announcing on December 14th (more than 6 weeks before signing day), he's giving every school recruiting him plenty of time to adjust their recruiting plans. If you want to be angry, save it for those who leave 3-4 schools hanging til (or change their commitments on) signing day.

If Tebow chooses UF, we should not be "angry" with him. He made his decision.

If he has ALREADY committed and is using us, then yes...we have a good reason to be ****ed.

Right now, I don't see any reason that he has already committed.

true!

I love this kid.. He would be a great fit.. I just hope everything is legit.. Also, I would like to see him narrow his interest list.. There is no way he is going to LSU or Michican. (IMO).. I do not believe that his top 5 is even! I still think there is something already disided between him and CMS. Either way, Bama is going to be ok at the QB position.

Tebow

You have to remember Tebow would not take like 3 or 4 unofficial visits if he didnt want to come to Bama folks. The guy traveled to Bama just to see us play. What does that tell you. I believe we got him but if we dont we have Smelley.

Smelley got a call from Spurrier yesterday and Spurrier is coming to visit later this week. He didn't committ but the offer is there. Read what you will into that.

After reviewing the list of prospects, i have a new realistic list of prospects

1). Andre Smith- an absolute must for Alabama. my gut says Bama
2). Tim Tebow- Great Athlete- QB for the future. Fla, Bama- Bama will win
3). Tim Hawthorne- Big WR who can catch. Dont feel too good about him
4). Deantwan Whitehead- Great lineman with huge upside. See Hawthorne
5). Toryan Smith- Perfect fit for Middle Linebacker. Uf, ND, UA. ND holds edge
6).Mike McCoy- Another big WR with hands. Not as polished as Hawthorne. tone of schools
7). Brandon Spikes- Great LB
8). Courtney Smith- Great Route-runner with hands
9). AJ Jones- OLB all the way
10). Ugo Chinasa- great pass rusher. Why isnt Texas recruiting him??
*Multitude of Rbs- Marcus Sims, CJ Spiller, LeSean McCoy- all are longshots and we are set at RB but these guys are too talented to turn away.
*Multitude of DBs- Jenije, Jake Jones, Justin Woodall, Ryan Hill- take any of them
*Athletes- Anthony Summers, Allen Walker, Earl Alexander
For some reason, Im getting the feeling that Earl Alexander is being put on the backburner by the ALabama Coaches. Despite his high ranking, perhaps hes just overrated. Has anyone seen him play? or seen his videos?

If Tebow goes to Fl, I think I will be angry with him.. To me it would look like a big game he has been playing with Shula and the bama natiion. Why not go ahead and commit already if you know where you are going. He is a good kid so maybe he really does have Bama high on his list. I just do not believe he is the kind of person to play head games. I guess we will see.. But in the end if he goes to the Gators he is screwing with bama!

He knows that he doesn't want to face any defense of CJK's. After watching Leak get beaten all day long, he either comes to Bama or goes to some other conference!

I'll say:

1)Andre Smith - He's exactly what we need, a super-physical, super-aggressive O-Lineman. I think he's ours.
2)Tim Tebow - You all know him. I'll predict we get him.
3)Tim Hawthorne - I love this guy: he's fast, big, has good hands, and is a natural playmaker. I think we lose him to an out-of-state school in the end.
4)Brandon Spikes - He'd be a beast at ILB, and already has the size to come in and compete for that starting spot. His interest in us seems to be cooling off now, and I'm not sure it ever heats back up.
5)Peanut Whitehead - Destined for stardom and likely destined to head out of state as well. The jury in my gut is still out on him though, we may get him.
6)Earl Alexander - Undeniable athletic ability. I think he's ours if we pursue him with enough effort
7)Courtney Smith - Like Alexander, he's big and athletic, but unlike Alexander, he has proven hands. He exceeds rivals.com 3-star ranking, IMO, and I think he's ours if our offer to him is legit.
8)Jermarcus Ricks - He's a hoss. He seems dominant in his recruiting videos. The battle with Auburn for his signature will be tough, but I think we get him.
9)Jacques McClendon - The lone member of our big board I've had a chance to see in person. He definately a talent, but even if he's pulled from UT, I'm not sure we're the ones to pull him.
10)A.J. Jones - Big play, big talent football player, but he'll need to bulk up. I was feeling good about our chances with him, but suddenly II get the vibe he's stuck with UF.

Obviously, people like Sims, Eason, Hill, McCoy, Spiller, etc. could fit on the list, and they probably would if I felt they weren't such longshots.

Hey Rto

Hey RTO can you answer this?
In terms of slots that we can recruit how many are we gonna
fill compared to the 11 teams in the SEC? I'd imagine that we
could still take more recruits due to our sanctions even still
this year similar to last year when we took more recruits than the
nasty barn did. Could you evaluate this situation?
If you know and can I'd like a rundown of all 12 SEC teams because that would
give everyone an idea of what they can take in verbals
ala players versus what we can take therefore giving us
a better vision of whst we can expect. Thanks.

ok, let's give it a try....

go here and use the pull down for each school:
http://alabama.rivals.com/commitlist.asp?year=2006&school=2

It depends on how many scholarships each school can give this year. Some will be less than 25.

Alabama- 15-17 commits
Barn- 14 (I think their number is roughly 19 or 20)
Arky- 7
Florida- 16
UGA- 23 (1 or 2 more max)
Kentucky- 17
LSU- 17
MSU- 12
OM- 14
UcheaT- 8 (and maybe shrinking)
USC- 6
Vandy- 12

Linebackers?

Who are the most likely candidiates to fill out our class at LB? I know the names, but who do we wind up with in the end, and which will play MLB?

look through here and you'll see our predictions....

MLB will be Toryan Smith, Brandon Spikes, or Jeremy Beal.

OLB will be Derrick Odom, AJ Jones, Craig Stevens, Kevin Alexander, Roshaad Byrd, Corderick Govan

Appreciate your input RTO as always. :)

my pleasure....I wish I knew the number of schollies each school could give out, but that'd take a while to dig. Interesting to look at though. I wouldn't think UT, USC, and Arky would still be in single digits. They must have relatively low numbers to give this year b/c they won't fill into the 20s unless they take a few back-up back-up plans.

What the heck, there is nothing going on for game preparation.
1- Andre Smith- OL
2- Deantwan Whitehead- DE
3- Jacques McClendon- OL
4- Brandon Spikes- LB
5- Cordera Eason- RB
6- Chris Smelley- QB
7- Ryan Hill- DB
8- Tim Hawthorne- WR
9- Derrick Odom- LB
10- Allen Walker- S
Of course, I would also like Tebow, but I want to give Smelley some props for being a Bama guy. I would love to have another defensive lineman, but I am unsure who it would be.

Some people think he's already on campus. PJ Fitzgerald walked on this year and redshirted. He's working out the sporadic-ness. CDU said he would punt one with a 5.2 second hang time ( :eek2: ) and then the next would be in the concession stand. He'll battle for the starting job next year.

i think pj will start next year and after christenin graduates in a couple years friedman will take his place on kicking

10 most wanted with a good chance

1. A Smith A Smith A Smith................. after giving up 11 sacks we must get him.
2. t Hawthorne
3.J Ricks
4.T Smith
5 t Tebow
6 mcCoy
7.M Goggins
8.e Alexander
9 J. jones
10.C Smelly
