I don’t care what Tenn or Vandy have to say about anything. I’m not sure why that would enter into anyone’s calculations here. Also, SECC is game 13. There ain’t gonna be a whole lot of new film gained from it. As for byes, winning the SECC gives us a bye. It gives us the exact same amount of time off as we would if this was still the 4 team playoff. Otherwise we are playing a game every ~ 2 weeks to start. It’s not the same as avoiding the SECC in the BCS or 4 team, where you legitimately gain an extra week by not playing. Again if we lose, then we highly likely weren’t going to win anything anyways. Idk, just seems like six of one, half dozen of the other to me. Why not win a conference title in game one.

But it’s all moot. We are playing in the SECC barring some wild chaos.
This. Let them say whatever they want and we should care less.

Them: "Ha, we beat you!"
Us: "That's okay. We're SEC and/or National Champions and you're not."

Ole Miss beat us in 2015 and we went on to be National Champs. Did we care what they had to say afterward?

If the ULTIMATE goal is to win the national championship, then whatever scenario affords the best opportunity to do that is the one I favor. If playing in and losing the championship game , for a third loss, wouldn’t knock us out of the playoff, that’s one thing . Problem is, we don’t know.
For sure. Right now, two losses and this strong SoS still looks good. Go into the SECCG for a third loss and things get much less certain.

I think this way too. There aren’t many undefeated champions anymore so somebody always can say they beat the champ.

Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler were pretty sure that Tennessee's Omarr Norman-Lott was faking this injury. "He's right here and looks to be fine. Looking over to the sideline and takes it down." "When you look at the sidelines before going down, it's suspicious."

If you are going to fake an injury, at least limp to the sideline!
