Had Georgia played Ole Miss instead of Arkansas then we would have atleast seen an embarrassing performance from them. Georgia isn’t winning a national championship with this offense. Because they are going to be forced to score with teams at some point
I hope you’re right. If I could just be confident in our OL. I’ll believe in us by the time that game rolls around. I always do.

But beyond us, who? I guess Ohio State. I can’t see anyone else out there that Georgia wouldn’t be able to severely hinder their offense.

Oregon CAN give them fits, but I don’t trust Oregon ever. Cincy could as well but the same issues.

Alabama or Ohio St are winning the championship in my opinion. You have to have offense to win championships. Defense is great but the days of 2009 Alabama are over and Kirby has yet to get the memo because the SEC East sucks.

The only question I have for us if we make it is can we give Bryce any time at all?
The only thing that gives me some confidence is we HAVE the talent on the O line. I'm just not sure they are there yet as a cohesive unit that has fully developed enough to handle what Georgia is going to throw at them on the LOS. I just hope we get the chance....

It sounds weird but I think Wake would put up points on them. The only problem would be Wake would give up way more points.

I also think Sparty could play the game fairly close but ultimately lose.

It Alabama won the title this year. I think Alabama fans would have massively weird feelings about this team historically.
It really depends on who we beat for it. Beating Notre Dame in 2012 cured alot of bad feelings about a horrible offensive coordinator screwing up what would have been a complete season (Heisman, SECCG, and NC).

I would still be happy with a NC but if it’s over Cincy or Oregon I think most would treat it like the Yankees beating the Padres for the WS.

Yeah but let’s not pretend that the 2012 team had the kind of flaws or gaps this team that the 2021 team has.

Some offense numbers before this weeks games

Average scoring margin
Georgia is 1st in the country and 1st in SEC at 31.9 points.

Points per play. Georgia 3rd in country and 1st in SEC. bama is 7th in country and 2nd in SEC

1st half points per game. Georgia is 5th in country and 1st in SEC. Alabama is 6th in country and 2nd in SEC

Yards per play. Georgia is 4th in country and 1sf in SEC. Alabama is 24th in country and 4th in SEC

Yards per pass attempt. Georgia is 4th in country and 1st in SEC. bama is 8th in country and 3rd in SEC

Yards per completion. Georgia is 10th in country and 1st in SEC. bama is 32nd in country and 5th in SEC

Alabama does beat Georgia in points per game overall and yards per game. I would at least argue a little this has to do with having to score points in some games for bama when Georgia really hasn’t had to do that late in games

no georgias offense does not look Flashy, but it’s efficient. Can georgia win a game that’s an offensive shootout? Probably not with Stetson at QB

I am surprised by those stats because the offense does not look scary. But the defense is simply amazing.
I am not going to lie, I was very surprised by the stats as well when I looked all of them up. I wanted to see how far Georgia was off the pace on offense, and really they arent in terms of efficiency

Yards per play is a big overall metric for me personally and Georgia is at 6.9 yards per play, bama is at 6.4

I’ll give it to UGA: this is their best team in a long long time. They are the best team in this conference, but they will have to beat the 2nd best team in the conference to prove that #1 ranking going into the CFP. Even if Alabama somehow were to beat them in the SEC title game, a competitive hard fought affair, I probably drop them no lower than 2 in the CFP. I’d let Cincinnati have that 1 spot, and face Ohio State/Michigan in the 1/4 game. Alabama and Georgia need to play the 2/3 game to advance.

i think many people, in the scenario above, would move Bama to 1, OSU/Michigan to 2, UGA to 3, and Cincy to 4. I put that undefeated team that has been the AP’s darling, to 1. Go ahead and get the 2nd Bama/UGA game out of the way.
