Even though Tenn. is up 14-0 at half, Fulmer seemed stressed at half, and Vols don't look too good. Know how teams can have apathetic games, but good to see him squirm.

The UT faithful's collective heads would explode if they lost to UAB. Personally, I'd be laughing my rear off.

This is a prime example of a team playing away from their strengths simply because "Everybody else" is doing something else.

One of the Dave's just mentioned that UT's offense has always been based off of hard nosed running, drop back passing and now they've gone to a more spread, no huddle type offense. They are struggling and have struggled. Their biggest plays come from when they go back to what they do best and that's old school SEC football.

Folks, just because "everybody else is doing it" doesn't make it the best thing for YOUR team to do. You play toward your strengths and you'll win more than you'll lose.

I hope Bama realizes this...

There is a parabel or story, or what ever you want to call it, circulating throught the Triathlon world, called " Don't eat The Glue." I'll try to find it and post it.

This is a short "cut" of the Don't eta The Paste article. I will provide alink to the whole thing...just incase anyone wants to read it. Forr those not familiar with triathlons I will explain a little. It is Swim, then Bike then run. In the Ironman triathlons it is swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and then run 26.2 miles ( the run is a full marathon.) What this coach is trying to pound through people's heads is, even if others are going all out on the bike, just relax and don't push it. You'll have 26.2 miles to catch them on the run. So "DON'T EAT THE PASTE!"

Don't eat the paste. Ironman in general, but especially the bike leg, is at best a special ed class: you only have to show up with your C game to be at the head of the class. If you find yourself doing the opposite of everyone else, you're doing the right thing. If Jimmy and everyone else is in the corner eating the paste, don't join them! Sit down, do what we're telling you, and don't eat the paste! Lots of people passing you in the first 40 miles? That's good, don't eat the paste. Going backwards through the field on a hill? That's good, don't eat the paste.
Think you made the mistake of riding too easy? You now have 26 miles to fix that mistake. Make the mistake of riding too hard? That mistake now has 26 miles to express itself, to the tune of X miles at 17-18' walking pace vs X miles at 8-10' running pace. Do the math. How is that bike split going to look as you are walking/shuffling the last 10 miles of the run?
