The power of Tidefans football Forum.

I had not realized the power of our football forum until this week when it became apparent to me that there are many people who view us on a daily basis. Coachs, players not to mention many many fans.I can see how this forum could be used by others to check in on what we as a university are thinking. It became clear to me why certian threads have to be locked. I would like to take time to thank the Moderators for all you guy's do to inform us and protect us when we don't even know we need it......... RTR and let's build this program back to where it belongs..........:BigA: Geno B

Our record is 1612 members viewing tidefans at one time. That number of users would not have been possible under the old server. I view several other forums daily and see links to tidefans.

Yep, its powerful precisely because of who comes here. Its interesting that often, the same sort of talk that goes on in here is sometimes mentioned on tv and radio sports reports; at times word for word. :wink:

Not that I care one way or the other, but I have wondered why Tidefans doesn't make everyone register in order to view the forums like other boards. I know that this is a very popular board and I think it has the most level-headed and rational Bama fans/mods on the internet. Of course there are some exceptions, but for the most part this is a top notch quality board with reliable information.

When the NCAA stuff was going on, Wally Renfroe (was that his name?) made an on camera appearance talking about something having to with Bama's punishment. I made a post here mocking Wally (imagine that), something about the palm trees waving in the background behind Wally- (I think he was in Florida at the time.)

Anyway, the next day or maybe the day after, Finebum checked in with his column. Believe it or not he was going on about the palms waving in the background. I've forgotten the details, but there were more things in common between my post & his column.
At the time, other posters remarked his column sounded a whole lot like what was up on Tidefans.

Obviously, I'm not expecting any verification of this, but I would make a small wager that Rick Karle is on here. His evening reports are uncannily similar to what I read on here, including purely speculative threads.
