Have had some time to sit down and take a minute to think about this.
A lot of us (and not just people on this board) saw some very concerning things in the FSU game.
Team and coaches didn't look focused or prepared for the game. Players looking flat footed and in some cases players were just loafing and not giving effort. No fire on the sidelines from the coaching staff and apparently no answers/adjustments.
The announcers during the game were pointing it out, people on this board, national media and so forth (and rightly so).
Since that game there has been a shift. The players have played with a great deal more intensity and the coaches seem to be coaching them harder and showing more intensity and some mental toughness.
Last Saturday was a good example of this. Bray, who was highly criticized after FSU made some big plays for us, including causing a fumble that allowed Bama to score a fg which, all other things being equal, won the game for us.
The offensive line did an outstanding job in pass protection all night.
Mental toughness was bowing up by the defense and making a play when we needed a stop. Offensively on that last possession to kill the clock we made some key plays. Williams came up big and caught that ball and held on when taking a big hit.
This staff and team are making big strides.
I am proud of how the guys have responded.

Cautiously.....Cautiously, mind you....This team could feel a little bit like the 2015 squad. The response after that first loss, is a bit reminiscent. BUT, we will know for sure by how they respond to Vandy at home. Maybe Coach put a circle on the payback calendar.

Agree in regards to caution but the premise is that instead of folding in light of all the criticism they have responded well. Don't know what the final record will be but at least we have guys on the team who took it as a challenge and have responded well.

The thing I hate the most is Talking Heads and radio host quickly point out how the Alabama fan base turned on Kalen Deboer after Florida State, but faile to mention the fact that the national media in the local radio host were the ones leading the charge.
Listening to that idiot John Michaels on 680 the fan this morning. He was the first to bring that up. He was also one of the ones who didn’t believe Alabama really had a chance in this game because he mentioned how soundly Florida State beat them and they said don’t give me the fact they weren’t prepared or they were sloppy or whatever Florida State just beat them.
I also haven’t heard anyone bring up the fact that after that Florida State loss, Kalen Deboer was 4-5 in his last ninegames against FBS opponents at that time. And the same things that got them beat in the previous eight games got them beat against Florida State. I’m proud of this team and the way they responded. I’m happy with the coaching staff at this point of the season and the way that they’ve brought the team along, but DeBoer is 7-1 against top 10 teams. It’s the unranked teams he struggles with . We will see over the course for the next few weeks how everything plays out . so far so good.
