I'm not sure if many know on this board but Brett Favre is my favorite football player of all time. I've followed him ever since he beat us back in his days at USM. My dad and I were watching that game and after that game I remember my dad saying that kid is something special. I don't think he had the foresight to ever think he'd be what he as become in the NFL but he knew that Favre kid could "sho nuff" play some bawl.

To my point. It would make my day if Brodie put together two solid years this year and next and entered the NFL draft. I'd say Favre will play this year and next and then hang it up. He has nothing left to prove. The guy is a first ballot hall of famer. The Packers draft Brodie and he steps in as Favre's successor to the throne in Wisconsin.

I'm thinking BIG but IT COULD HAPPEN!!!!

Brodie has the tools . . .

he's just got to make it happen on the field.

He's got two seasons to do it and there's no reason why he can't. But I believe that more than anything, Brodie wants to turn this team around. If he can help turn this program back in the right direction, everything else will take care of itself.

Coach Bryant said, "There are three types of football players. First, there are those who are winners and know they are winners. Then there are the losers who know they are losers. Then there are those who are not winners but don't know it. They're the ones for me. They never quit trying. They're the soul of our game."

You know, we don't have a squad full of 4-5 star athletes. HS All-Americans or even college A-A's. But what we have are a bunch of athletes who were willing to "hold the line." Who want to be at this university. Who have stayed through the tough times. Who are coming to campus as freshmen during low tide. They want to be here. And they want to WIN!

Among others, Brodie is a leader of this group and I think we will all see tremendous progress in Brodie's game this season and next. As long as he takes care of business, the NFL will be there. If not, I think Brodie will be successful in whatever he does.

And, yes, it would be wonderful to see him take the mantle from Favre.
