I have seen talk about the potential leverage JM may have with his teammates and coaches that may potentially cause CKD internal issues within the team if he were to bench JM. I know T Arnold and JM executed licensing agreements with each player so they could use the "LANK" moniker on their merchandise. Such agreements are typically done on a "per item sold" basis and I'm almost certain it is being managed by Improbable Media (Giannis A.'s company). My concern is mixing monetary agreements and potential monetary compensation within a team framework. Player to player deals is a horrible idea and sets almost a death trap within the team concept. Curious to see what other information and thoughts you all have about this.

Are JM and TA the only one's who profit from LANK or does the entire team get a share? I'm ignorant to the situation.
Every player gets a piece - clever way to get leverage:
"Milroe and Arnold announced this week that every member of the Crimson Tide football team can profit from the LANK brand through an NIL partnership with the Yea Alabama collective and Athlete’s Thread."

I don't fully buy that this is as big of a deal as people are saying it is. But I do see how it could be problematic. I don't think anyone is starting because of the LANK brand but what do I know

Let's see, player A somewhat controls the purse strings of this avenue for NIL deals and who gets paid. many players benefit from said structure. Player A doesn't perform well and is benched. Player A could influence other players to 'protest' and not play well to make a point. Keep in mind that they only made it available to all players after the 2023 season. Prior to that, it wasn't that open and was only with a smaller group of players.

Possibly even causing back spasms that miraculously lasted only one game along with inexplicably poor blocking across the entire OL.

Team dynamics exist.
Of course they do.

I'm sure he could to some degree. But I could create narratives about anything. It is just pure speculation right now that this is happening or having a role in who is starting.

Ultimately I still think players (especially starters) care more about winning and being effective in their roles than whatever amount of money LANK is providing. Maybe not all of them but I would assume most, especially the WRs and RBs.

We don't even know how much money we are talking about here.

Speculation is speculation but we have seen some very interesting dynamics with this team and last years team that give us some insight to what might be happening.

Didn't someone say this wasn't even open to all players until after the end of last season?

But can you see the potential of someone playing harder for one player than another because of it? Money influences people both consciously and subconsciously. Add to it you're dealing with kids who aren't used to having money and you've got a recipe for all kind of screwed up mess.

Yes. Nothing I can share but there are locker room issues due to this.
Interesting. This is the first I have heard anyone say that without just creating a narrative.

To a degree yes.
