This year's SEC champion could have two losses...maybe three.

You would think Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Auburn would be left for dead with two losses (actually, Alabama is in better shape of the three with only one conference loss). But, if some scenarios work out (and with the way this crazy seaosn has gone, it's very possible), we would have a two or even a three loss team versus a two loss team in the SECCG. And, there's no guarantee that a three loss team can't beat the two loss team. How crazy would that be?

If Bama and Auburn both win this weekend, the SEC WEST may very well come down to the Iron Bowl. Who would have thought that?

A two loss SEC team won't even sniff the NC game and as much as the "experts" like the SEC a three loss SEC team might end up in the Independence Bowl.

Tider, AU has only one conference loss as well. Hopefully that will change Sat. night.

I think the winner of the AU/LSU game has the inside track to ATL. The loser will still have a shot with the way this season has been going, but the winner will control their own destiny.

We still have a slim chance, but realistically we have too many tough games ahead. UT, LSU, MSU and AU....just too much.

I'll tell you the game that concerns me the most.

Mississippi State.

It's the game right after we play LSU.

With all the media hype around that game, I'm afraid that we'll give 200% in that game, and win or lose, we'll be drained before we play Mississippi State. Croom gets them to give their all when they play us, and it's in Starkville this year. I see that as a trap game coming up.

And, quite frankly, it's the one game I would really like to see us win.

I'm not conceding defeat to the bullies, but with the way the schedule is working out, it does have me concerned.

Tennessee only has one conference loss as well...The other was to Cal...

But, I agree, the SEC winner may, and most likely will, have two losses...Truly, in the East, only one team is all but out of it and that's UGA bc their two SEC losses were both SEC East losses, so if UT, SC, and UGA all had two losses, they would lose out due to head-to-head...There are 100 different scenarios right now, but this is truly going to be one of the most fun 2nd half of conference play in a long time

I didn't say the national championship game. I said the SEC championship game.

This is why I think the SEC may get hosed on the national championship game while easy-going schedule Ohio State gets a pass to play for another NC.

This may not only occur in the SEC, but on a national scale...I think there's only 4 undefeated teams right now (OSU, BC, Hawaii, and ASU)...Anybody not think that any of those teams can't lose two games in a hurry (except Hawaii, but they don't count)...BC will probably next week to VT, and they still have another loss in them...ASU still plays USC, Cal, and Oregon...OSU still plays PSU, MSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois

Then look at the top one-loss teams (LSU, Oklahoma, WVU, USF, Oregon, USC, Cal, S. Carolina, KY, etc)...None of those teams are so dominant not to think they don't have another loss in them

There's a good chance the SEC Champ will have two losses, and also an outside chance (albeit a small one) that a NC contender will have 2 losses

By midnight tomorrow, either LSU or Auburn will have two losses. Our first hurdle is to beat the Vols, of course; but assuming we do, it looks like we only have to beat the LSU-Auburn winner and MSU.

TiM is right, though, about the MSU game. We can't take that one any less seriously than either LSU or Auburn.

Simplest solution: win out. No contest then.

Losing to TN will hurt your chances some, but honestly not that bad...You lose to UT, you still control your own destiny via the fact that your two SEC losses would be to the East...you take care of business in the West, you're in Atlanta

If LSU gets past Auburn, they will have 1 loss going into the SECCG. A win there and they still get a shot at a national title.

Any thought that Bama is in good shape because of our current SEC record is simply shallow and poorly considered. We have not beaten any of the tier 1 or tier 2 SEC teams. Those games are still ahead of us.

We are about where we were last year in the SEC - third tier, just out of the basement...

UF is a long shot and has to beat UK and USC. IMO the UT/USC winner has the inside track, but USC still has UF and UT still has UK. So the East probably won't be settled any time soon.

If, and I don't think it will happen, UK runs the table then a rematch of one loss LSU and UK in the SECC game.

This is par for the course for the entire nation this year. In the SEC, Kentucky, Florida, LSU, and Auburn can play with anyone in the country. But I don't think anyone is going to escape with less than 2 conference losses. If LSU can beat Auburn they may have the best chance.

MSU comes between LSU and AU this year, hopefully getting a small breather to seperate them. Not to take MSU lightly but having them in there is a little easier to manage than LSU and AU back to back.
