Thoughts on the Heisman Race....

Problem is, for Sunshine, that Jones goes up against LSWho on Saturday and will likely have a BIG game. Then, against Arky will have a very good game as well and if Jones takes out Trask I don't know that anyone with any credibility or integrity about themselves could really say Sunshine is better.
Now, if Sunshine does win it and we face them in the playoffs then I see our team playing very angry on both sides of the ball and trying to break Sunshine.

If this happens, we just need Tony Brown to give a short pre-game speech before we play Clemson.

I get this feeling the media will continue on the notion of Trask as this “real life Walter Mitty type story” of a young guy in Texas that couldn’t get on the field as a high school QB because another blue chip QB was on the same team (D’Eriq King) and no major power five school wants him until Florida gives him a scholarship late. The “hero wallows in obscurity as a backup” until Felipe Franks goes down, then seizes the opportunity to lead Gators to glory this year.

Oh how they do love a good story..

Then you have “Sunshine” Lawrence that many will vote for as a “lifetime achievement award” because Coach Awe Shucks will position that way.

If Mac performs in the next three games the way he has in the first eight, there is little question he is the most deserving.

Unfortunately the Heisman doesn’t always go to the most deserving

It is crazy to me how these things change over time. Given today's standards guys like Colt Brennen, Timmy Chang and Case Keenum should have won the Heisman running away. To me, Lawrence may be the most prototypical but you have to grade him on the same curve you would someone coming out of Boise State or BYU. The competition just isn't there. Mac and Trask are very similar both in story and in stats with one glaring exception, TD's.

But, UF has 6 total rushing TD's on the season, Alabama has 24. Heck, if you take away Harris's, Bama would still have a 7-6 advantage.

I think it is Trask's to lose though, seems like the voters get less and less into nuance and more and more into what shows up on the highlight reel on sportscenter.

Nah I’m on this train now too and I’ve been rooting for Mac to win because he’s the best QB in CFB imo....

But DeVonta Smith is the Best Player in all of CFB regardless of position. He has no real peer at his position either.

I want one of them win the Heisman and the other the Maxwell because those are the two ‘Best Player’ Awards.

The Biletnikoff is already engraved at this point.....

I would say Waddle is a definite no in the coming back debate. You would probably have a better shot at Mac coming back.

I hope Bryce improves over the off season and spring/fall camp. I think he will. He does need to gain about 15 pounds of muscle too. I would like to see Paul Tyson play. I wonder how Jalen Milroe will develop, since I think he is enrolling early. Offense will definitely be in rebuilding year next year. Would be a pleasant surprise if Waddle returned but I am not getting my hopes up.

Heisman will be decided in SEC Championship. It's now between Mac and Trask. Devonta could be a sleeper.

It is Trask at UF and Mac at UA in my opinion and SECCG will will be 2 great QB's on same stage, I think that game will decide the Heisman winner. Mac should have edge as our D is a bit better than UF def. They have no run game so all we need to do is harass QB and pick off passes. Their D has a lot to stop so they will give MAC his shots.

AMEN all mac needs to do is win games and get the NC, heisman is nice but I want #`18 for the whole TEAM.
