What was the year Bama beat UT in Knoxville (56-28?) and then lost to Penn State the next week? Who was the Tide tailback that day who demolished the vols? :conf2:

Hmmmmm, I know for sure it was in 1986, but not quite sure if it was Jeremiah Castille or not??? RTR

Was it Humphries? I remember that the Tide ran the Toss sweep right over and over again and the vols could not stop it. I remember talking with some fellow Bama fans. They were surprised how easy the Tide won the game. One said I wish we could save some of these points today for Penn St. Hpw true as the Tide lost 23-3. Still a forever memory for me!

It was Bobby Humphrey

And we must have run the toss sweep 50 times that day. Humphrey had well over 200 yards rushing and Bama just crushed the Vols.

That was such a great play when you have great atheletes to use it. Almost impossible to stop, especially with a few reverses and counter plays mixed in! Defensive ends are pounded to a black and blue mess of humanity! :biggrin:
