I got an email from Tide Pride this afternoon offering SEC Championship Game tickets and bowl game tickets. There are two different order forms with different deadlines, and you can submit your order online.

I don't remember exact numbers, but cut-off for 2 guaranteed SECCG tickets was roughly 400 points. On the bowl orders, I think it's all sort of provisional on point cut-offs until they know what bowl we're in. You check off every bowl game you'd be interested in attending, and if Bama's in that game, you get tickets if available.

The bar keeps getting higher and higher. They ought to just raise it to an astronomical number and just get it over with already.

I had no offer for SEC tickets. Called Office and they said unless you have 440 points, you are not offered SEC tickets. I had 414.

How much would a person have to donate to obtain say 500 pts?? Just trying to equate the points to dollars donated thru Tide Pride.

I wouldn't give up hope yet, you might get a call being that close to the number toward the deadline. Me, I have 194 not even close. Good luck.

They recently simplified the formula. It's 3 points per $100 donation to the Crimson Tide Foundation. (500 / 3) x $100 = $16,666. I don't think they give credit for donations less than $100. If so, you'd have to round up to $16,700.

Remember, this is a donation to the CTF and only the CTF. Annual Tide Pride club fees count only 1 point per $100, and the cost of the tickets themselves gets no points

The old formula was a lot more complicated. Long story short, and contrary to the general perception, the new formula actually helps the little guy compete, if only a little bit.

Also keep in mind, the bar goes up every year. The exact amount is a function of donations, but in the 300 to 800 point range, it's been averaging about 75 points a year.....or about $2,500 or so just to keep other folks from climbing over you.

The flip side of multiple nine-figure stadium expansions, high eight / low nine figure weight rooms, and low eight figure coaching staffs.

Not true. You still get 1 point for every $100 that's part of the annual Tide Pride club donation. You just get more bang for your $100 by giving to the Crimson Tide Foundation.

You are correct. I thought that might have been outdated, so i called Tide Pride, and they verified that it's still the policy. Thanks for the catch!
