Tide’s Gilberry plans to push young players

We've all been witness to a team coming out ready to play, all fired up and seemingly never taking a play off. This is how it has to be to beat teams you may be an underdog too. We can also remember back to some whole seasons where the norm was to take plays off, ie.. see the DuBose era. I'll say it again, I think good competition at practice helps alot. There is truth in the saying "you play how you practice". :BigA:

I really don't worry about WG's motor. If anyone saw the play that he made against Southern Miss this past year, you would know what I mean. IMO, it was the most important play of the game. The QB dropped back deep to suck the D Line in for a screen pass to the RB. Wallace was close enough to the QB to jump in the air to try and knock the pass down, but missed it. He turns around and pursues the RB, who had eluded most everyone because the play was executed perfectly. He chased the guy down from behind about 20 - 25 yards downfield and made the tackle that saved a TD - a TD that would have put S. Miss up by 3 scores at that time. If any of you guys have that game recorded, watch and you'll see it. I know Pro made the play of the year, but Wallace made the play of the game that night.. IMO.

I agree with that. But it's kind of like comparing apples and oranges. We'll just say that WG made the defensive play of the game while Pro made the offensive play of the year.

I think that most of you are unsure of what type of player that Wallace is. If you knew him personally you could make an assumption to what he meant. Wallace is a great player with a big heart for Alabama football. He doesn't need to be pushed because he goes out every game playing hard for the University . He is already pushed by his teammates, coaches, and family. If you noticed last year his stats were not there like they were his freshman year, but he played with the same intensity and still helped the team out. If you pay attention to the games you will see "how many times" he took a play off;)
