Transfer portal opens today.

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I would love to get a couple long, athletic guards who could extend our perimeter defense.
Look at the 3 new recruits. I think all three of them could play the 2. Two of them are guards and one of them is considered a small forward. They are all long. Over 6'4" or so.

Yeah, transfers may be the way we go to get experienced players, but the freshman have size.

In my opinion he's not a replacement for Cliff in any way. Perhaps for Grant because he's 6'10".

Instead, he's just a super long 3 or 4. I think this is CNO going for more height. He may play the 4 spot but probably rarely the 5.

And imagine the flexibility we'd have to go with the 7 foot transfer at 5, along side of Sherrell at the 4 with Bowen at the 3. Talk about going with a big line up!

His inside game and dunks reminded me of Cliff in the video I saw. Explosive around the rim like Cliff.....

Sure and that's a good thing. But at 190 lbs and judging from the highlight reel, CNO signed Bowen to be a perimeter guy 1st. He's got a great stroke from distance.

His offensive game reminds me a little bit of Noah Clowney. I doubt he's the rebounder he was, but there's some similarities.

But my point is I don't see him playing the 5 and that this is just CNO wanting the whole team to be longer to compete with the kind of teams that beat us this year.

Yeah I see Taylor as a legit 4 who can play 5 if needed. Sherrel announced hes staying so he and Williamson can hold down the 5 solid.

If we can get a double digit scorer st the 3 spot and a solid pg, we should have the makings of another final four team.

Does this mean Reid is gone?
The article I read last week said that Alabama was actively in "negotiations" with the players already on the roster. I wouldn't assume they're leaving just because they haven't said anything yet. The others might still be in negotiations. Still think we keep at least 1 of the other 3.

If we lose Philon, Reid, etc trying to figure out where the points come from next season.

Hope that means we are going to rock the portal here soon.

I would think that means Reid and Stevenson are gone. But not sure
Thinking Reid may be looking for a draft grade/notes I would assume. Stevenson got his last season if I remember correctly so he may be looking to part ways or check his value.

Thinking Philon may test the waters for a grade as well.i think he and Reid comes back. We have the quality peices to challenge foe a final 4 with them. We should easily be ranked in the top 5 preseason if they stay

Wrightsell coming back is huge. I've always liked his style of play!
He been saying all season he's coming back. Him and Oats. Mallett too. Stevenson I don't expect him to be back. I'm waiting to see how oat constructs his roster. Does he want it to be similar like Duke? Duke runs similar style and that's what Oats wants.

I think people vastly overrate the size issue with Duke. Yes they are big but more than anything they are very talented. They have 3 freshman that look to be lottery picks. Those type guys are not growing on trees. I am sure Oats would love that much talent no matter what size they are but we are not gonna be able to recruit like Duke.

Their size def handicapped our guards and their center shutdown the paint. They were bigger better and most importantly more disciplined. Very impressed with them
