Trump's Policies Part 5

This entire thing is why I could never get behind DOGE. Don't get me wrong, I supported the CONCEPT of lowering the deficit with DOGE, but it was never going to happen with this guy.

A guy who:
a) has horrible personal finances
b) has declared bankruptcy in business SIX TIMES

is not someone intellectually or fiscally capable of balancing the budget even by executive order. And that part of me that lives in cynicism suspects he hired Musk to do this on the basis that Elon would somehow take the P.R. hit if budget cuts were passed, suggesting he doesn't understand the first thing about how "blame the President for you woes" is a thing.

My bigger concern now is that as he treats the American economy like he's a four-year-old playing with blocks, the worst can happen and yet the perpetual rump kissing portion of his base will somehow find an incredible way to say the entire thing is the fault of the Democrats.

With a 36T debt, interest on debt now equal to the entire military budget; how can anyone justify making this much worse with OBBB? You can argue parts of OBBB but how can anyone justify renewal of the tax cuts provision of this bill when this is by far the largest part of the deficit producing part. We will not reduce the debt by lowering taxes. It hasn't worked for 40+ years and its not going to work now. That is the cold hard truth!

DC Circuit case assigning evenhanded, despite GOP outcry
Republican lawmakers have suggested that the D.C. District Court’s chief judge has been assigned a disproportionate number of “high-profile” Trump cases — but a review of such litigation points to a less damning conclusion.

...

Courthouse News reviewed roughly 100 cases challenging Trump administration actions that have come before judges in the capital’s federal district court. They included litigation against the White House’s efforts to fire independent inspectors general from federal agencies, its move to shutter the U.S. Agency for International Development and the freezing of certain federal funding programs, among other issues.

Of the cases Courthouse News examined, Boasberg was assigned just the four that House Republicans pointed to in their Monday letter. Some of his fellow D.C. judges, including Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee, and senior Judge Royce Lamberth, a Ronald Reagan appointee, have presided over as many as six such cases. Judge Jia Cobb, appointed by Joe Biden, is overseeing eight cases challenging Trump's actions.
As usual, the GOP uses misinformation to try to create controversy. Instead of worrying about a president who is constantly breaking the law, they want to blame the judges.

Its no coincidence that Boomers are worth $90T and the government has $36T in debt and this deficit was largely ran up during the working years of the Boomers. They have benefited wildly from the era of reducing taxes and the resulting asset inflation that comes with reduced taxes.

Boomers are also paying a lot of that back NOW in the form of RMDs.

Lankford: "People are screaming and saying, 'It's kicking people off Medicaid.' It's not kicking people off Medicaid. It's transitioning from Medicaid to employer-provided healthcare. So yes, we've got 10 million people that are not gonna be on Medicaid, but they then are gonna be on employer-provided healthcare."

Is Lankford a moron, liar, or both?

The United States are a guy having a heart attack l;ying on the sidewalk and Democrats and republicans are standing over his body yelling at each other:
"You should have told him to lose weight!"
"Yeah? Well, you should not have let him go out for a jog!"
And neither of them is calling the ambulance.
And the patient is dying.
This is such a good analogy...

I honestly feel horrible for the people who absolutely need (or will absolutely need) the federal giovernment to pay for their social safety net, not the one who accept federal assistance because, "why not?" those that absolutely need it or they will die. Most of them have no idea what is coming.

What's worse is all the politicians - BOTH sides - who know what is coming and what it will mean to many and continue to kick the can down the road for their own personal gain (such as re-election).

Those voting for continued over-spending are evil and are enemies of the citizens of the US.

LOL, what a crap-show this is turning into. I'm skeptical of the idea that Trump is on the Epstein list simply because if he was, the Dems would have leaked it a thousand times already.

Maybe, but I suspect there are likely names on the list that might prove embarrassing to both parties. I hope we see a full release soon.
