Trump Organization launches $499 phone, new Trump Mobile cell service

Trump Organization, the holding company for President Donald Trump's business ventures, announced the launch of a new cellular service and cellphone on June 16.

Dubbed Trump Mobile, the network will offer 5G service through "The 47 Plan," a flagship plan available for $47.45 per month − a nod to the president's first and second terms.

That's gonna leave a mark...

“I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable. I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this,” said U.S. District Judge William Young, a Massachusetts-based jurist who took the bench in 1985.

Young’s sweeping rebuke during a court hearing was a reference to two executive orders signed by President Donald Trump that led the National Institutes of Health to rescind funding for research related to racial minorities and LGBTQ+ people. Though Young said he was uncertain whether he had the power to block the executive orders themselves, he declared the NIH cuts Monday to be “illegal” and “void,” and he ordered the NIH to immediately restore the research funds. An appeal is likely.

“I am hesitant to draw this conclusion — but I have an unflinching obligation to draw it — that this represents racial discrimination and discrimination against America’s LGBTQ community,” the judge said. “That’s what this is. I would be blind not to call it out. My duty is to call it out.“

And we're back to the pro-Trump appeal to half truths. The very sentence below this snipped part that keeps making it around:

Dozens of prospective employees, many of them Spanish speakers, had been coming in and out of the plant all day. Some were hoping to land a new job; others were coming in for training.

This is not creating jobs for a single Trump voter, and they wouldn't do these jobs anyway.

There's a lot of (as is always this case with this guy) theatrics and "whoo hoo, look at me getting things done" going on.

What's not actually happening is white Trump voters ain't replacing all those brown people he's making a big show of arresting.

And we know it's a big show after he just went full "Hey, ICE, don't take out none of those berry pickers or hotel workers, I need me some illegals myself!"

I mean, if you're working off the theory that the deportations are based on racism, your post has a lot of merit.

If, however, the 'many' (who knows what percentage that constitutes) that spoke Spanish are here legally or are US citizens, then no one I know would have a problem with it. In fact, if that's the case (they're legal, which one would assume they all are) then the deportations of the illegal aliens was beneficial, as claimed.

Exactly! I mean, the place just got raided. It takes serious balls to walk right in there as an illegal hoping for a job. Common sense dictates that most, if not all, of these job seekers are able to work legally.

If CEOs had to spend a day in jail for every illegal found on their premises, there'd be no illegals working. This is the equivalent to jailing prostitutes but not the Johns. The billionaires will bring back child labor and slavery rather than pay a fair wage. I'll believe this "illegals" talk is sincere when I see chicken plants shut down and forcibly sold off and Boards of Directors doing time. Not before.

God, however, could not be bothered to spare Corey Comperatore, who was killed by bullets intended for Trump, right Mike? You see, God favors the rich and mean who lie and don't pay their taxes and what good does a volunteer firefighter do God on this Earth? No, better to save a convicted rapist President whose exhibition of family values are the fact he's had three of them and cheated on all of them.

There was a time I would have thought Mike Huckabee was better than this. But then again, I lived through evangelicals telling me that people were going to have to answer to God for their support of the adulterous Clinton, conveniently forgetting that the moment it became convenient and Trump became King Donald of Israel, who cheated on his wife with Bathsheba.

Mike Lindell verdict: MyPillow founder defamed former voting equipment company boss

A federal jury has found MyPillow founder Mike Lindell liable for defaming a former Colorado voting system executive after the 2020 presidential election.

The Denver-based jury determined on June 16 that Lindell made "baseless conspiracy theories claiming election fraud in the 2020 election" and slandered Eric Coomer, a former director at Dominion Voting Systems, a North American company that makes and sells voting machines and tabulators.

I have no problem with the stated objectives:
- Rein in federal spending and the resultant national debt.
- Minimize illegal immigration, and stop spending government dollars housing, feeding, educating and giving medical care to people here illegally.
- Get Europe to pay its share of its own defense, including aid to Ukraine, instead of relying on the idea that "if the dirt hits the fan, the Americans will bail us out -- again. So party on, Fritz! Party on Pierre!"
- Re-shore manufacturing such that we minimize dependence on unstable foreign sources of supply.

However, the methods used to achieve these goals have ranged from ineffective to massively counter-productive.

Decent stated goals. Jaw-droppingly botched execution. And yes, I have suggestions for how to address all of these, but I'm guessing nobody wants to read a post that long.
