“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response. But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one.”

“These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction. “Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes.”

“These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio.”

"Whether it's right or wrong, it's time to go after people" . A direct quote by trump yesterday saying even if its wrong, he's going to go after people. This fool has made MANY concerning comments but this has to be one of the worst!

The idiot in chief talking about lowering drug prices:
If he can achieve anything in regards to making drug prices more affordable then I'll tip my hat. Unfortunately, I don't think he'll be able to. The Pharmaceutical Lobby is really, really powerful. I would be happy with a law that says you can't charge US customers multitudes higher than other countries. America subsidizes the rest of the world. It's time for that to stop.

Call me when he gets them down 600%. I would like to get paid for taking my prescriptions. ;)

One reason Trump is constantly being hoisted by his own petard is from making exaggerated statements like this. He still doesn't seem to understand that his base is going to hold his feet to the fire over his claims, just like they are doing with the Epstein files. (And you have to admit, it was interesting to see D.C. Dems joining in the chorus after that WSJ article only to disappear after a few days.) What was THAT all about? Oh yeah, it was roughly around the same time that Trump ordered the release of "pertinent" grand jury files regarding the Epstein case. This request was promptly blocked by Judge Robin L. Rosenberg. I feel like I'm watching a bad comedy.

He's never grasped that running the US is not like a real estate deal, where "puffery" is expected. In his first term, he confessed he approached the job as if every day were like an episode in a reality show. It's just his worldview. It can't be cured...

I agree, but I'm still gonna complain about it. This is pretty much the role old Curmudgeons like myself play in society. Take that away from me and I don't know what I bring to the table. ;)

Yeah, I know. Same here. I think he'll finish his term, or die, with only his hardcore MAGA base. Probably less some of them, as his policies (?) play out...

Yes, it's almost like he's a conman......

No, they won't.

His "base" voted for a Teen Stalker in the Alabama Senate race in 2017. It was the "non-MAGA Republicans" in the state that salvaged it for Doug Jones.

(And you have to admit, it was interesting to see D.C. Dems joining in the chorus after that WSJ article only to disappear after a few days.)
Of course they disappeared, the Republican Speaker dismissed everyone.

Trump ordered the release because he knew that wasn't going to happen - and now he can pin it all on an Obama appointed judge.

Or a real estate developer.

No, they won't.
Yes, they already are. I'm seeing it with my own eyes and hearing it with my own ears. He's not getting a pass on this, nor should he. You see, they remember chanting "LOCK HER UP, LOCK HER UP!" only to have Trump dismiss the notion after actually winning in 2016. They are still quite unhappy about "putting all this behind us and moving forward." They haven't forgotten about that and they won't conveniently forget about this. X-influencers are divided over it and watching their slap-fights has been pretty entertaining.

Of course they disappeared, the Republican Speaker dismissed everyone.
They still have access to Twitter as well as their bootlicks at MSDNC. The conversation has stifled and that in and of itself makes my BS detector start beeping hard enough to melt down.

Maybe. It's amazing how fast OMB swings from deranged moron to evil genius in only a few clicks. Unless he ran the idea by his advisors first (something the board has assured me he doesn't like to do), I find that to be highly unlikely. In any case, this is going nowhere and again, nor should it. He literally campaigned on this, just like he did with Killary. I could eventually be proven wrong and if so, I'll own up to it, but for now the magic 8-ball is telling me he won't get away with this twice.
