It’s a simple truth: for a lot of these guys if it wasn’t for the nfl they would be in a much lower tax bracket. Their physical ability has allowed them to make much more money than any of their other attributes. What’s wrong with being realistic?

For the record, I would do the same thing in their position. Scramble my egg for the ability to provide millions for my family? Sign me up. The only marketable qualities I have are a decent work ethic, determination to provide for my family, and a willingness to work under conditions other people wouldn’t.

I agree with the bold - that's fact for a vast majority of NFL players.

But what you originallyposted was:

That's a very different statement and one that I take umbrage with.

I think that you are very, very wrong. These men all have one thing in common - they are willing to sacrifice and work hard to achieve their goals. In any field, that trait is pretty uncommon. People today are complacent and lack a real work ethic.

Give me a man who has worked hard enough to make it through a P5 football career any day over a kid who had daddy pay his way through school.
