Does anyone know when the TV coverage will be announced for the Arkansas game? Anyone have any predictions on what it will be?

Check out this article...

"...The Crimson Tide is one of at least three, and possibly four, SEC games under consideration for television that day. Other games that are being considered by the SEC’s television networks (CBS, ESPN and Jefferson-Pilot) are Tennessee at LSU, Kentucky at Florida and Mississippi State at Georgia.

“That will be the first week that the networks are in the 12-day selection window, and in fact, it will probably go to a six-day window based on the significance of some of the games that will be played on Sept. 17," Womack said..."

Now, with the crimson-colored glasses safely put away in their case, I just don't see our game with Arkansas falling below second pick out of these 4 games. First pick would clearly be ut @ LSU. If ESPN consents to allowing that game to be the CBS day game due to the hotel room situation in and near Baton Rouge, then I think our game against Arkansas is clearly a bigger draw than UK @ UF or MSU @ UGA. Now, granted, Ark. didn't do us any favors last night by losing to Vandy; however MSU looked pitiful against AU and there's no reason to believe that they will be any more competitive against UGA. Neither ESPN or CBS wants a non-competitive game where people are switching to other games before the first quarter even ends. LSU/ut should be a competitive game, as should UA/UA. MSU/UGA and UK/UF should be one-sided blowouts of little interest after the first quarter or so. Look for us to be on ESPN at night if they do the "right" thing. Otherwise, expect an afternoon game on CBS.

The only real question for the rest of the year is the Mississippi State game.

Utah State will be PPV for the state of Alabama, Gameplan for the rest of us.

everything else is on CBS:

crapola...i know which game i'll be getting. :mad2:

I certainly don't see how ESPN and you can possibly have it all figured out when CBS hasn't even settled on which games they are showing each week. Their own website shows "TBA" for most weeks. It is a fact that every one of our games from here on out with the exception of Utah St. and MSU have been blocked off by CBS. However, very little is definite at this point. UA and Arkansas' websites still show the TV/Kickoff time for their game as TBA. The article I linked above suggests that we won't know until next Sunday.

There are Tide fans in Boston? :eek2:

Are you a transplant to Boston?

There aren't many of us as far as I can find, lol.

To answer your question, I went to grad school at Bama and I'm now living in Boston.

I find it hard to believe that Tennessee at LSU will not be picked up by CBS that weekend. Common sense tells me that our game will be on ESPN because it is the second best match up.

Follow the link to the article I posted above. Here is an excerpt:

"...ESPN has the first choice of games that day and had previously expressed an interest in the Tennessee-LSU game, a potential match of Top 10 teams. However, that choice may be more complicated now because of issues related to Hurricane Katrina..."

I believe it is twice per season that ESPN gets first pick. I would suspect that if ESPN has to give up the UT/LSU game due to after affects of Hurricane Katrina, they will get to replace that first pick with a first pick on a different Saturday. Now, I tend to agree that we would be second pick on that day. It just remains to be seen whether ESPN will be giving up their first pick in the spirit of cooperation.
