Should I go ahead and buy tickets now from the scalpers on stubhub, ticketcity, ect or should I wait a couple of weeks to see if ticket prices will go down? I have never bought tickets from companies like these soI don't know when is the best time to buy. Also, I want to go to Atlanta with tickets in my hand, I don't want to buy tickets outside of the stadium.

Thanks & BEAT VT!

Ticket prices for a game like this generally do not go down until a few minutes before kick-off, when the scalpers realize that it is better to get something than nothing. But remember that unlike Tuscaloosa, Atlanta has very strict laws about ticket buying/selling within any close distance of the stadium. So you have to go many blocks away from the stadium to even find anyone selling tickets in the event you wait until game day. If you are even meeting someone you know to exchange cash & tickets near the stadium, be extremely careful. There are uniformed & undercover cops all over the place and if they witness the transaction you likely will both go to jail. It's best to handle your tickets before you get there, as you mentioned that you'd prefer.

Tickets haven't been mailed yet.... once they do, the price will drop then will rise again until about a week before the game when they'll drop on eBay/StubHub... only to rise everywhere else.

The scalping laws are correct but you'll still see lots of folks doing it. If you do go that route just keep the profile low and you're better off buying from one of the "regulars" than someone who might look like a casual fan (those are most likely the cops).

My advice would be to go to Atlanta with tickets in hand. Tickets were scarce last year for the clemson game, and this year both teams will be in the top ten. With that being said, Stubhub guarantees their tickets, and there was no hassle dealing with them at all. I would wait until season ticket holders have their tickets in hand and then check e-bay to see what the market price is then.

I will say the Atlanta PD around the Dome for the SEC championship game were very nice. I actually had one extra ticket and held the ticket up. A cop in uniform advised me that it was illegal to sell tickets above face value but they were not arresting anyone but giving warnings to fans. --
I sold the ticket to Bama fan for some profit and then he must have sold the ticket to a FL fan for even more.
Needless to say my friends were not to happy with me when a FL fan sat in the seat right next to them. I watched the game in the parking lot with some people that I really didn't even know. But we had a heck of a time. I believe that between the Superior Grill tailgate party and the fans that I sat with in the lot. I consumed more beer on that day than I did the entire month of November. And for me that is a large amount.
