I know boys will be boys and play pickup games of BBall..I wish they wouldn't though..I cringe every time I hear a player breaking or tearing something playing BBall or some other sport besides football..I never got hurt playing football..But broke my ankle 3 times playing BBall with friends..

Hopefully, it is just a six week injury (and not a Prothro-type injury) and he'll be back in time for fall practice. The silver lining of this for them is at least they will be able to spend some quality time getting their backup QB ready.

Murray took a lot of punishment in the Auburn game from Thug Fairley. He's a pretty tuff kid. Hopefully it won't be that bad and he can recover quickly.

Pickup BBall is the worst for injuries I think. 3 months ago I strained tendons and suffered a high ankle sprain from a pick up game. The doc told me I was lucky I wasn't going to have to have surgery. Im still not 100%, it stinks because I have to keep training and doing certain activities and haven't been able to take much time off. On every long run, this thing swells like a baseball, but it is much better than when it first happened. I feel for this kid, I hope he makes a full recovery before the season. I really am looking forward to watching him, he will be very good.

Hopefully he'll heal up quick. Ankles are tricky when it comes to healing. So many subtle planes of movement in an ankle. Second only to the shoulder in terms of difficult injuries to convalesce.

He sure was impressive in that Auburn game. Left it all on the field.

Actually, as the story goes, he was playing pick up soccer. Yeah, I know....

Here is the latest report from our good friend Gentry Estes....

Murray sprains ankle

Georgia starting quarterback Aaron Murray sprained his right ankle Saturday during a pick-up soccer game, but that is the extent of the injury, according to UGA.

X-rays taken were negative, and an MRI on Monday morning confirmed the sprain, according to UGA director of sports medicine Ron Courson.

Official word from the football program's medical staff disputed an earlier media report Monday that Murray had broken his ankle in two places.

As it stands, Murray will be limited in offseason conditioning for a few weeks but is expected to be able to participate when UGA begins spring practice March 10.
