I posted most of this over on the prayer board.....
Victor +Y is tolerating the chemo well. He had over 1 1/2 leters of fluid taken off of his lungs and it feeling stronger and looking better. He will actually check out of the hospital this afternoon and then check back in this Thursday for another round of chemo. Through the generosity of a Houston Alumni Chapter member, Victor +Y and his Mom will be able to stay at a furnished apartment near the MD Anderson Cancer hospital. Another Alumni chapter member has loaned the family a car. Other Alumni chapter members are helping to provide meals. The local church of a couple of Alumni chapter members is providing spiritual support and food also. The pastor of the church has been seeing Victor +Y in the hospital. Victor +Y's Mom has been comforted by his visits. At the Alumni Chapter viewing party for the Vandy game, donations were made to help Victor +Y's family with all of the expenses. This outpouring of support and prayers should make everyone proud to be a part of the Alabama family.
It is going to an uphill battle for Victor +Y and the odds are difficult. The doctors are very glad he is doing well accepting the chemo. He has been in excellent health and is a fighter. Let's keep praying for the miracle.

Great job by the family so far. The Alabama Family never ceases to amaze me. The bond and support each one of us share is very hard to explain to an outsider. This is just another example of why I will always proud to wear the script "A".

The fights not over. Keep prayin'. Keep givin'. Victor+Y.

ATTN: NY, NJ, & CT Folks...

The president of the NY/NJ/CT Alumni group emailed me last night and said that they are holding a big fundraiser for the Victor+Y Fund at their game-watching party Saturday... For you folks out there in the hinterlands, this is a GREAT idea!

Just wanted to pass it along!

Is there anyway to email Mal Moore or someone in the Athletic Department and see if we could hold a fundraiser for maybe the Houston or LMonroe game and put forward some of that profit toward Victor's fund??

Just got some positive news on Victor +Y's treatment. As scheduled he was re admitted to the Anderson Hospital for more tests and chemo yesterday. The doctors are extremely pleased with the results. The CT of his lungs looked much better and the fluid in the lungs and his cough were actually better. The doctors are pleased that he is responding better than expected. All of the positive news has Victor +Y and his Mom very excited.
Victor +Y truly believes he will be completely healed in a few months. He believes prayers are being answered and that a miracle is taking place.
He will return home to Chattanooga this weekend and then come back to Houston for more chemo and tests in a few weeks.
Victor+Y's theme is to BELIEVE. He is doing all he can do, and he truly believes all he can do will be enough, if we keep praying. We are with you Victor +Y.

If you want to stop by the Quad and sign some banners for Victor +Y on Saturday, they will be near the Coke trailer on University Blvd on the open side of the Quad. The banners will be over nighted to him the following Monday.

Also for those of you around the country watching games with your alumni groups this week and next -- several alumni groups are holding fundraisers to donate to the Victor+Y fund during their game watching parties. Please participate! If your alumni group is not holding a fundraiser, try and get the local officers to hold one today anyway!

Come on, Bama fans, lets help him lick this thing!

Give whatever you can, even $1 helps. You can make a difference!
I sent a check directly to Bryant Bank. Does it not 'count' for TideFans unless we contribute theough PayPal? Thanks for efforts and for updates from Capstone46 (I think 46 is correct!)...I was thinking about him during moments of Sat. game and hoped he felt well enough to watch!

Tide Tales - the paypal acct is something the bryant bank folks setup I think. We're only helping publicize it and have nothing to do with it other than that. All "credit" goes to all the great folks who have helped thus far!
