Folks I've lived in Tennessee for twenty years and am a regular reader of this board. I come here because the mods keep the posters civil and the information helps satiate my need for Bama football news. I hesitate to even post because I've already read the sentiment of most of the posters. But some things need to be said.

Fulmer is the real deal when it comes to a soft heart. I know people very close to him and this is not the only example of how he helps those who are struggling or those less fortunate. Those of you saying on here that he has manipulated the media or done this just for image are wrong. Way wrong, and you've let your crimson colored glasses get in the way of seeing the truth. Like many of us, there are different sides to Phil Fulmer and he doesn't do everything right, and he's not always wrong. But when it comes to helping others out in times of need, he's all heart.

There are bigger things than football, and there are more important things than winning and losing. Ask Clark Flatt or Steve Caldwell. Ask the thousands of young people saved by the work of the Jason Foundation or the parents helped through the crisis of losing a child.

So hate or dislike Fulmer for what he did to Bama during the Means/Cottrell/Young debacle. That's understandable. But that one part is not the whole picture of Phil Fulmer.

Whether Phil has a huge heart or not is beside the point. Adolph Hitler was a very honest person who didn't drink smoke, etc. but that does not excuse what he did. Same for Sadam Hussein (sp?). If Sadam made a promise, he kept it. Phil is in the same boat. One good action does not negate one bad.

It's not a man's litany of good deeds that make him who he is. It's what's on his list of bad deeds.
