Man, I hope not, cause Boise will show up plenty motivated - and wearing uni's some here would call an eyesore, just like their field. There are two thoughts I have with this.

One: The uniforms aren't that great, but hey, it's a neutral site game against Boise State...why not? Uniform choice doesn't win the game, VT will still pound the rock - no gimmicks here...

Two: Nah, I guess I'm old fashioned, but I would want my team to go out in our traditional jersey (preferably home) and intimidate without selling out.

I'm amazed at the number of people who are picking Boise State, you'd think people would be a little more educated if they watch this much football.

Boise has got an ok defensive line but against a ground game like VT has, their 4-2-5 won't work. Evans and Williams will both run for 100 yards in this game.

I'm not sure Boise's ever seen speed like this, not even when they played Georgia a few years ago.

Va Tech's 2 backs are the only backfield in America that has a legitimate arguement this year, as to having the best backfield in America, and yes it is comparable to Alabama's...

This is not a black out game, only the team is wearing black. Nike pumps millions of dollars to VT so I will take the ONE time uniform. One a positive note the players and recruits love this type of thing so why not. Reguardless, Fed-Ex stadium will be full 80k plus for the Hokies! Go Hokies Roll Tide!

Those things are horrendous. They should be able to do better than that. Also, that article says they will wear black helmets Talk about looking bad.

Actually the black helmets should be pretty cool. My understanding is that they're going to feature the VTCC logo instead of the usual VT one. The redskins actually donated enough tickets for the entire corps to attend the game which is really cool of them.

I'm on the fence re: black uni's. I like the all-maroon look and wish we'd just stick to that, but when you dance with the devil (Nike) you don't always get what you want.

Yeah you'd think they'd do their research! :biggrin:

How many starters does VT have coming back on the OL? And it's their first game as a unit against an experienced DL. It doesn't matter how fast the RB's are if the OL is ineffective. And no one really knows what the VT 2010 OL will be like.

And VT has some serious question marks on defense. A BSU team returning the entire offense isn't the type of unit you want to cut your teeth on. There actually are valid reasons for picking BSU in this game.
