Game week is upon us. All the speculation and hopes of grandeur (sometimes delusion) all goes away into reality once that ball is kicked off.

I am most excited about finding out the following things about this years team and coaching staff:

-How does CKD manage his coaches and his sideline this season? Does he look like he is in complete control or not...

-What does a CKD and Grubb offense look like at Alabama? This season we should get our first look at why we actually hired CKD. What does that actually look like and is it as exciting and explosive as we had hoped for?

-Does this team play for each other or are they playing for themselves? I want to see guys celebrating with each other and for each other.

-What brand of football is our defense this year? I hope to see the defense flying to the ball and gang tackling the ball carrier on every snap. I want to see punishing (legal) hits that deter the prima donna WR's and RB's from wanting to touch the ball. I want to see a relentless pass rush that causes havoc and confusion for opposing QBs. Is that too much to ask?

-Who are the guys who we don't yet know about (example Bray Hubbard in '24) who are going to be pivotal to our teams success this year? Every great team has guys who come out of nowhere and step-up to be leaders and hefty contributors. For us to leave our mark on this season we will need our fair share of these guys, particularly at RB early in the year.

-What does the OL look like this year? In season's past there has been a steady decline up front by our big guys. Physically we have not been as dominant as I expect us to be and in the pass protection we have struggled. Will this season be the year where we get back to our nasty and dominant ways or will we continue to play "paddy cake" with the defense?

Those are just a few things I am most curious to see.

Excited to watch this team become Ty Simpson's team, in much the same manner as Jalen Hurts carried himself his first year.

Ty still has all the "5-star" attributes he had coming out of high school, plus the maturity from several years of SEC level training.

Ty was born and raised for this opportunity. I think he will shine this year, not only as a QB, but as a leader of his team.

Roll Tide!

I want to see TS come out and play with confidence and lead the team to victory.

I've seen several articles about him talking to CNS, CKD and CRG, and even a few players about how to handle his nerves for his first start. I hope he's not overwhelmed by it all.

Keep in mind that he was asked about that specifically. He did not say he was nervous and reached out to them to discuss only that.

I’m most excited to see the Offense with no limitations being executed as designed with Grubb’s play calling.

Our WR1-WR3 are are good as anybody’s and we have a chance to be explosive.

We’ll be able to move the chains better with short and mid range passing too as RW, Germie, and Horton all run clean routes and have good hands.

I’m really excited to see Brooks get a few touches. He could be electric from the Slot.

Hopefully the OL is improved and there are less missed blocking assignments and that Ty has time to go through progressions.

I think we’ll be good at RB and just need to get guys some experience there.

I also hope to see the Defense continue to improve in Year 2 and clean up some things from a Discipline perspective wrt playing your assignment and not getting fooled by eye candy. Play the ball.

I mostly echo others in that I want penalties cleaned up and to eliminate extra curricular nonsense.

We need to see real Leadership this year and stay focused and composed week to week.

I think we have the potential to do something special this year if everyone is on the same page starting Saturday.

Roll Tide!!

I want to see our defense get off the field on 3rd and 3 or 4. I don't have the exact statistic, but In my flashbacks to last year I think we gave up about 184,336 first downs on plays like that.

I am sure that is the kind of game plan Coach Bad Teeth wants to play Saturday.

A friend of mine is a big Miami fan and he says that Horton is an excellent receiver. Certainly Williams will draw double coverage on virtually every play. I think that the outcome of the game might well be determined by how much Simpson can utilize Horton and Bernard.

This is going to be a very exciting game.

Double covering someone at WR is easier said than done. I agree that he won't see a ton of "cat coverage" most nights but most defenses can't afford to lose two players out of eleven every snap for #2. He will get opportunities throughout the season and from what I've been reading, CKD and Grubb plan on moving him around quite frequently through alignment and motion to create even more issues in trying to game plan to stop him. Think Tyreek Hill and what the Dolphins do with him.

I'm more interested in seeing how the team respond to certain situation compared to last year. It's more of what I'm looking for on the offense side.
