Those are April and May 1971 shows. Right in the middle of rock & roll's greatest era (imho). I was in the middle of my teen years and loving it.

Recognize this 1970 rocker ?

Saw "Mountian" in concert at the Jacksonville Coliseum in '71. Stayed over at my Uncle's place there. Surfed the North Jetty before heading back home. Lot's of concert stories as I'm sure others here have....

Wish I could remember who opened.....

Bowie !??
Yes!
More stories.....

Saw him in concert in Miami while dating a girl who lived in Coral Springs. She was fun! Her Mom worked in the Naples library and played matchmaker after meeting and getting to know me as I visited the library while living in Naples.

Another Mom set me up with her daughter after I re-located to Ft Myers too. She was also fun and very pretty.

The daughter - not the Mom. :)

Elton John's performance at the Royal Festival Hall in London on 18 May 1974 at a Children's Benefit Concert attended by Princess Margaret (Queen Elizabeth's sister). Some songs from this concert were released in 1976 on the live album "Here and There" which featured one side of songs recorded at this Royal Festival Hall concert, and on the second side tracks recorded at the Thanksgiving Concert at Madison Square Garden, New York that also in 1974. This track was not included on the original album, but was added to the expanded version when the album was remastered and released on a double disc CD set in 1995. "Bad Side of the Moon" was an outtake from the "Elton John" album, a B-side to "Border Song," and a usual part of Elton's early live set in the early 1970s.

Elton John: Piano & Vocals
Dee Murray: Bass & Backing Vocals
Nigel Olsson: Drums & Backing Vocals
Davey Johnstone: Guitars & Backing Vocals
Ray Cooper: Percussion
Words & Music by Elton John & Bernie Taupin

This type of music might not be some of you guys' type of music, but it is a pretty powerful meaning behind it. I never had to go through this type of life but had a very close friend that did have this life. She said the only thing that got her through it was someone like me.
