Matteo Manusco is a 27 yo classically trained guitar player who is as versatile as any guitarist I've ever seen. His chops are off the charts. He plays with his fingers the way a classical guitar player does, but he also taps like EVH, and he appears sometimes to be using a pick (although I've yet to see the pick).

There is plenty of Matteo's material available on YouTube, but I chose this old Eric Johnson piece that is kind of a rite of passage for guitarists.

That’s amazing! I think the pick might actually his thumbnail. At several points in the video, you can see that it’s got some length to it.

Another thing I noticed was the extreme ability to bend the last joint on his thumb backwards — almost 90 degrees — and the length of the last joint (actually all joints on all fingers) seems unusually long.

I know Mancuso must work hard to perfect his playing. 99.9999999% of the people in the world could practice 27 / 7 / 365 and never approach that level of virtuosity. The ability to do what he does, no matter how hard or long you work, comes from God.

I think you are right about the thumbnail being his pick.

Earlier Nancy and Lee. 1967/8. A trippy bit of baroque pop with Sinatra and Hazelwood as mythical characters. Released as a radio single. The B-side was a almost-as-strange version of The Kinks' 'Tired of Waiting For You'
