I am halfway through the first in a series by Conn Iggulden Titled "Genghis Birth of an Empire".

I was in the library and the book jacket just cought my eye. I had never even heard of this author. So far it's been one of those that is hard to put down.

I drive quite alot, so I have started checking out books on CD and just got through with, Robert Masons "Chickenhawk". It is the authors tale of his time in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot.

I've read his series on Julius Caesar and on the Mongols. (The Mongol series is more historically accurate.) He has another in the Mongol series coming out shortly. Quick, entertaining reads.

Hell Island - Matthew Reilly. I bought this novella Sunday afternoon and finished it by suppertime. Quick and good read. I have read 3 Reilly books and own the other 4 and he has quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7)

I wanted to read this book before the movie comes out (part 1 opens Nov 19). Of coures, I had not read any of them, so the last couple of months was a bit of a scramble to read all seven along with my other regular reading.

Impressive works. Massive body count.

Looking forward to the movie.

Deep Survival, Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why, Laurence Gonzalez.

So far, I'm enjoying it. It's about the psychology of what helps us to live in life or death situations. These impulses also sometimes lead us straight intot he teeth of death.

Plowing through all of Clive Cussler's books. 2 in progress: Flood Tide, where the ship Oregon is introduced, and The Silent Sea. Entertaining, if not formulaic, and his subjects rather well researched.
