I have never smoked a cigar after a Bama victory over UcheaT but I think this might be the time to start. What would my fine Bama fans recommend for a newbie?

I would try a Cohiba, Montecristo or possibly a Arturo Fuente. If you only smoke on a rare occasion, might as well make it a memorable one.

My cigar of choice

I have smoked cigars for years and prefer a full bodied cigar which usually means a maduro (dark or black) wrapper. I have also learned that price does not always equal the highest quality. So my preferred smoke is the Oliva grand maduro. The price is generally $3.50 to $4. I think it stands up against the CAO Aniversaire maduro at half the price.

For those who prefer a mild smoke, the Macanudo is the most famous. I like to compare it to a Corona or Coors Light beer. The lime is to give some flavor. If left to my own devices I'll end up with a stout.

Maybe my taste buds are dead and need a good slap to get the message.

The store brand from The Briary in Homewood works good enough, or a tin of Astley's No. 109 pipe tobacco.

I particularly liked the Macanudo Robusto that I recently tried.
Any of the above brands, and you will not usually go wrong.

Montecristo No. 4 Cuban Cigars would be my choice but they are not legal in the states. :mad2:

I am taking 4 Robusto Fino from the Dominican Republic. These you can get in the states.
I'm with you on the Montecristo #4, my personal favorite. However I'm not opposed a good Cohiba, and yes I'll have a few #4's on hand for this game :biggrin2:

I know this sounds silly, but does anyone know what the team smokes after UT games? I aint trying to jinx anything, but I AM going to buy one before the game, and I want it to be as sentimental as possible if I get a chance to smoke it.

I also have a question, is this a one sided tradition? I have always known that Bama smokes victory cigars after a win against UT, but does UT do the same when they win?

I just had one of the montecristo's from cuba and was blown away by how good it was.
The Opus Opus X is way expensive, I have several different smoke in my humidor.
There is a Fuenta Gran Reserva (big and tasty) that may be burned after the monumentous smackdown.

Agreed - I limit myself to 5-6 cigars each year, and prefer Cubans, but the Dominican Cohibas and Montecristos are outstanding...

Sounds like a good idea. I've never smoked cigars and never thought to have one after the game. Now that I think about why not, I think this would be a good year to start the traditiion at my house. RTR

A Macanudo Portofino is an excellent first time stogie.

I think they dip snuff or enjoy a big chaw of Red Man. Wait that's every day, never mind.

I like the Macanudo Vintage and the A. Fuente is also nice. Generally a Robusto is my choice.
