Colorado and Duke.

Maybe I shouldn't be as surprised by Duke as I am. But they look legitimately good. Excited to see them play Notre Dame next weekend
They play N. Carolina today. If they were to upset them they may be a legit contender in the ACC.

Not to pile on about our QB situation, but the Bama boy that is playing QB at Duke is looking pretty good doing it (only watched them against Clemson game) but trust me we would take the QB in the game and dominate with it. He reminded me of a more athletic and smooth Jake Coker.

Some good comments here ---- and I agree.

Just a quick comment of my own about Florida. Referencing the Utah game - Florida made a ton of mistakes that night - but the majority of them were correctable. To Coach Napier's credit (as well as the team) they worked on doing just that. Correcting mistakes.

The talent is there - just as it's been in so many previous seasons.

I also would say Graham Mertz at QB has exceeded many's expectations - a nice surprise for many.

Season is still too early to know how things end up but we'll see....

At this point of the season...lots of disappointments. But SEC? Florida is better than I thought. Cant say I am surprised they are winning, but I didn't expect the Defense to be as good as they are. Missouri is better than I thought they would be. A& M hasn't awakened just yet. Kinda surprised there. Still early.

For those who follow CFB in general -
I know it’s early, but what team has surprised you the most so far?
(Not Bama)
Surprisingly good or bad, either way, just haven’t met your expectations of what you thought they’d be. Better or worse. What say you?
I would go with Oregon or Washington.

I'd have to say the biggest is Duke. They are now 4-0 and hosting Gameday for the first time.

Notre Dame comes in after that gut wrenching loss to Ohio State. If they don't get right quick, Duke could hand them their hat. They are physical and well coached....and playing with confidence.

They have a lot of experience too.

Duke vs. ND may be the best game on the docket this weekend.

Somebody mentioned Mizzu. When do they play UT and Georgia. That'll tell us all we need to know.

Other than Bama and Duke, the teams that have surprised me most are Missouri and Miami. Both still undefeated after 4 games. Would not have thought that. Missouri will likely be 5-0 going into the LSU game.

Auburn is really bad.
Abruun vs last seven FBS opponents, from 2023 backwards:
Texas ATM: 56
Cal: 94
UMass: 161
Alabama: 77
Western KY: 122
Texas ATM: 60
Mississippi State: 75
Avg against FBS: 92
Avg against P5: 72

What do these numbers represent? Abruun's passing yards per game...

That passing offense is absolutely terrible.

It's funny because when I was watching the A&M/Au game last week, I thought that Freeze had several plays where he had guys running wide open. If they had hit some of those big plays early on, that game could have been different, but their QB missed the throws. A&M made some defensive adjustments and really put the clamps down, and their offense was able to pull away for a pretty easy win at that point.
I did not realize, however, that their passing offense had gotten that bad.

Maybe I'm being overly concerned, but I just feel like they are going to get better as the season goes on, and just in time for our visit to Jordan-Hare. Thorne is terrible, and I would imagine that Ashford will play against UGA, not that it will matter. I just will not believe that Auburn is terrible until we go there at the end of the season and beat the tar out of them.
